"Marcus?" I whisper in disbelief. Am I hearing things now? Do I seriously miss him that much? I gasp as he opens his eyes slowly.

"I..s-said... I l-love you..too," he groans in pain. I rush to his bedside, holding his perfect face in my hands.

"You're alive?" I whisper worriedly.

"I'm alive." I pull him into a kiss, holding him like never before. He caresses my face, returning the kiss with just as much passion.

A sigh leaves my lips as I pull away. I stare into his deep brown eyes as they look back at me. It's the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen. I rest my head on his beating heart, soaking up his body heat as if I'd never known warmth.

"So now can I kill you because you scared me to death!" I scold him, playfully. Tears of joy build up in my eyes as I look at him.

"Hey that was my line," Kol grunts stubbornly. Marcus glares over at him harshly.

"You were gonna say that to me?" He laughs.

"Shut up Steele you know I love you," Kol shrugs, rolling his eyes as Marcus chuckles.

"Someone give me something to throw at him," he jokes, pulling Kol in for a hug. They embrace each other for a few quick moments, before returning to their emotionless selves.

Everyone goes around taking turns saying hi, except Axel who gives him a firm handshake and offers his blessing. I laugh, playfully tackling him to shut up.

Kol and I help Marcus into his bed, while Melody cooks him something to eat. "6 weeks are you serious?" He grunts, stumbling into the bed. "Well, what did I miss?"

"Well," Kol clears his throat, "We found the detonator that was used, and tracked it's manufacturer. It was definitely Lukin." I pull the covers over him as he stares attentively at Kol. "He set us up, led us right into a trap."

"So where is he now?"

"Dimitri's been working on it but..." his voice trails off as sits on the edge of the bed. "We've got nothing, sorry boss." He pats his back and hugs me goodbye, before leaving us alone in the room.

I sigh as I cuddle up next to Marcus in the bed. I breathe in his scent as if it's a drug. He rests his arm around me, and I rest my head on his chest. "I was so scared," I mumble.

"I'm sorry," he says, stroking my hair softly. "For everything..."

I lift my head to look at him. "What do you mean?" He looks at me with sad eyes.

"I'm sorry to have you caught up in this," he whispers. "You never asked for any of this.."

I shake my head, "Oh and you did?"

"Still," he argues. "I'm sorry you got hurt." I sigh, resting my head back onto his chest. The sound of his heart beating is like music to my ears. He's alive and he's here with me. "Did you mean it?" he blurts out suddenly.

I lift my head up, yet again, and turn to face him. "Mean what?"

"That you love me." My lips form into a small smile as I gaze into his hopeful eyes. Did I mean it? A thousand times yes. It's too soon to feel so strongly for someone, and yet I do.

Suddenly there's a knock on the door. I open my mouth, but the moment's gone. I missed my chance... Melody walks in, holding a large tray of food. He devours the entire plate, before falling fast asleep.

Marcus's POV:

I wake up, holding Isobel's sleeping body in my arms. She feels so warm and so safe. Like she belongs, right here, in my arms. Her dark, sleek hair is in a messy bun and her face is bare. How could someone even be that flawless?
