Chapa crawled out of her nest, stretching out her lean muscles letting out a wide yawn. The she-cat noticed her friend Bose, and her mentor Ray mewing to each other. She stood straight, smoothing her pelt making sure she had no moss stuck to her. She strutted over, her tail up, but curled at the end. Bose glanced up at the approaching cat. "What are you two talking about?" Chapa asked, settling down on the cool morning grass.

"Just where to go next." Chapa turned her head to the voice of Schwoz, who was emerging from another den.

"This place is fine," she mewed, curling her tail around her paws, "plenty of prey, and peaceful."

"True, but we don't know what here," a tortoiseshell mewed, "anything can come out from the undergrowth and attack us.

"There are reasons we have powers," Chapa hissed, turning towards her, ''we'd beat anything in no time."

"However, we shouldn't use our powers unless absolutely necessary!" The tortie argued.

"Mika's right," Miles, got to his paw, stepping forward to stand next to his sister, "we can't risk letting out our true identities." Chapa lashed her tail, glaring at the tom, but bit back her argument going back to grooming her shoulder fur.

"Well I noticed a large pine forest just past that human den," Mika suggested, "maybe we could head that way."

"Good plan," Ray told her. "We should leave now that we are all here." Chapa glanced up, tail twitching thumping against her paws. The six cats got to their paws. "Chapa and I will take the front, Mika and Miles will take the back." I stood straight, waiting for everyone else. Once everyone was ready, she flicked her tail, and they emerged from the undergrowth. She followed close to Ray, flicking her ears, making sure the stream was still in earshot.

The sound of dogs barking snapped her out of her thoughts. "Mika," she called back, Mika gazed up, "did you notice any dogs at the human den?"

"I did, they're tied up," she replied. Chapa nodded gazing in front of her, seeing the shape of the den as it came into sight. Her eyes widened as a big black dog leaped on top of the fences, wailing with excitement. The harsh sound of a human distracted the dog, causing it to disappear. Chapa sighed with relief, it seemed that the dog could run right through the fence if it wanted. She winced at the thought of a pair of sharp teeth sinking into her flesh.

"Holy smokes!" He heard Ray snort in disgust, "something smells like it died!" Chapa gazed at her boss, she parted her jaws trying to pick up what he was smelling. A strong fragrance hung in the air as they approached the dense pine trees. "I'm not sure about this," Bose mumbles, "it's shadowy and smells weird!" Chapa bared her teeth, spinning to glare at him.

"If you want to be a coward then stay here with the dogs and humans!" She snapped, "but I'm going in!" She turned back around, diving into the conifers. She was pleased to hear paw steps following her. The terrain got muddier and wetter, causing her paws to sink. She heard the sound of prey rustling in the bushes, she was tempted to stop to hunt, however, she noticed the sound was too loud to be a small piece of prey. She smelt the air. Cats! "Who's there!" She demanded, "we don't mean harm!"

"Then why are you here?" A lithe tabby stood from the undergrowth, his pale striped pelt sat sleekly along his back, his teeth baring a snarl.

"Just passing through," Ray stepped in. A tortoiseshell she-cat stood beside him, as well as a red-shaded tom.

"This is Shadowclan's territory," the gray tom continued, tail lashing. The tortoiseshell narrowed her eyes, whispering something to the other tom. He nodded, and she stepped forward.
