The encounters were very calm, besides the occasional falling off the seat and Link hitting Johnny's head because of something he said, it was pretty normal. Ai Lan was unable to accompany them but they made sure to bring something back when they saw her. Her family heard that they had no where to go so they invited them to stay as long as they liked, when ever they liked.

They were really good people.

And the two, who always said that one day they'd probably yeet a baby out a window, it was a joke-, really liked the bubbly child and so did Xie Lian.

I'm getting off topic.

"A ghost bridegroom? You're looking for them?"

Xie Lian nodded at Johnny's question. "Yes. The last hundred years, a number of brides have been going missing." He recounted briefly. Link hummed in response. They finally made it to the tea shop they had been visiting.

The sun had began to set when they made it. Their, and alongside the little to none remaining people on the street, shadows were long and dark. A pleasant breeze passed by and the trees shuffled their leaves.

Overall, it was really peaceful.

Almost too peaceful.

Xie Lian approached the man at the front. Knowing damn well that despite the two younger males' crackheaded nature, they both were very socially awkward, mostly Link though-. The man spat out something when Xie Lian greeted him, the shop owner was already well acquainted with them. I mean, they legit when to his shop ever day for the past few days to meet up and talk.

In the distance, the two could hear Xie Lian ordering a plate of pastries and three cups of tea. The usual.

The three sat in their usual spot as well. Sitting in silence, they quite enjoyed their drinks and pastries. Occasionally making small talk like how their day was, what they were doing again, etc. Xie Lian had briefly talked about the Ghost groombride and it was safe to say they were curious.

But then out of the corner of his eyes, Link saw something fluttery by. He turned to look at the direction and saw what it was. It was a butterfly for sure, but it was glowing a soft white glow and was slightly translucent. Wherever it fluttered, a soft white, glowing trail was left behind. He didnt remember a butterfly ever fitting though qualities, he would know as he was obsessed with butterflies when he was younger.

Xie Lian was then the next to notice the fascination on Link's face and the butterfly. Then Johnny.

They all watched it gracefully flutter by, it landed on Link's outstretched finger and stayed there for a bit. The three had a staring contest with the unidentified butterfly before it took off again. It gently flew around the other too and then out the window, disappearing from their sights.

"...that was.."

"Something."

"Aye."

They heard someone clearing their throat from behind them. They turned to look and saw two new people. "How long were they there for." Johnny asked Link, he shrugged, also confused. Xie Lian sweatdropped before straightening up, "You two are?.."

The black haired one of the two clasped his right fist with his left hand and bowed slightly. The latter doing the same, "My name is Nan Feng. Subordinate of general Nan Yang, Feng Xin." He said. "Fu Yao, subordinate of general Yuan Zhen, Mu Quing." Link noticed something between the two suddenly appearing. He looked at them curiously

Xie Lain, being the polite person he was, gestured for the two the sit down in the empty seats near them. They did.

"Did your generals send you?"

Fu Yao crossed his hands and closed his eyes, Nan Feng rested his hands on the table. "My general doesn't know I'm here." They said in sync. The feeling grew heavier and Link realized what was happening, he elbowed Johnny's arm and yelped quietly in surprised. He glared at Link before noticed him silently gesturing at the two. He noticed what he was feeling and snickered quietly.

Xie Lian looked at them curiously but said nothing. He turned to look at then and pointed at himself slightly. "Then... do you guys know who I am then?"

They all looked at eachother blankly, bot knowing what to say. A crow passed from above, cawing.

Nan Feng cleared his throat. "Yes, you're his highness, the crown prince."

Fu Yao crossed his arms once more and rolled his eyes slightly. "You're the truth of the mortal realm. The heart of the world."

Link and Johnny stared at the two blankly, "Did...Did he just roll his eyes." Xie Lian asked the two. "Yes, kick him out." Nan Feng answered, cracking his knuckles. The two glared at eachother menacingly, Johnny silently wished he had a bucket of popcorn to watch the sexual tension all go down.

This shit was entertaining.

Nan Feng turned to the two they didnt recognize. "Who are you two?"

Johnny clasped his right fist with his left hand and bowed slightly, "My name is Johnathan, but others call me Johnny." Link, who was playing with his scarf copied his actions. "Just Link."

Fu Yao and Nan Feng acknowledged them, also returning the gesture. Xie Lian looked at Johnnycake curiously. "I thought your name was just Johnny?" He shrugged. "That's what every called me," he then proceeded to mutter, "and Link was the one who introduced us." Link gave him a look. "You two were the ones to almost crash into him. I saved both of your none existing asses."

"Gege, we aren't bringing this back."

"Yes, yes we are."

Fu Yao and Nan Feng just looked at them, not knowing what to say.

Xie Lian turned to them and continued before the two started assaulting eachother. "Let me just confirm something. You two are here are both here on your own will, correct? If not, please dont force yourself."

"I'm here willingly!" They both exclaimed at the same time. The two glared at eachother, Link slammed his head into the table, and Johnny used his K.Oed friend's back as an arm rest, laughing at their pain. Xie Lian sighed, questioning his very existence.

After a bit of small talk, Link began to wrap up the pastries neatly. They all stood up and Xie Lian turned to address them all. "Then let us find a place to settle down and discuss this so called ghost groombride of Yujun Mountain."

"Right." Nan Feng and Fu Yao said in sync. They glared at eachother once more. "The gay tension is real."

"Aye."

As they left, the butterfly sat on the cups they left to be taken care of by the shop owner. It watched as the group left before taking off into the night and disappearing once more.
