Chapter 4: The Hunter has Become The Hunted

(FLASHBACK) Training had ran late that day ...I had burst through the door "MOM DAD LACY ... GUESS WH.." I stopped mid sentence glass was broken . The living room was trashed the couch was torn to shreds . But where were my parents and lacy there cars were parked outside I began to panic. I through my bag to the ground and ran upstairs "MOM ..LACY ..DAD " running into my parents room I saw them laying in there own blood eyes wide in shock unmoving . I fell to my knees in between them both . checking for a pulse anything .. but felt nothing .. the were cold . The large gapping hole in there chest made sure of that. I ran to my sisters room . There she lie tied to the bed like an animal pulling out my pocket knife I cut the ropes . "lacy baby can you hear me " I said chocking on my own tears . Her baby blue eyes slowly looked at me a reflection she was my twin after all. Hope swelled in my chest . she shakily put a blood coverd hand on my cheek "you need to run ...they will come after you next " her words gave me chills . who lacy who did this , she didn't answer me only shook her head . "under the floor where we used to hide things quickly open it" she rasped I quickly complied . "there's a leather bound book with a symbol on it " I got it and brought it to her she only shook her head no. lacy what do I do ?? "Moms locket is in there to quickly put it on hurry " she urged. I got the tiny satchel and slipped the gold chain with an emerald on the front surrounded by tinny vines . She slowly sat up clutching her side opening the book she held the emerald rock in her hand. "Ariana listen to me very carefully once I say this incantation I will die my soul will go into this rock never lose it or all will be lost " what are you talking about lacy!? " No time " was all she said before she began speaking another language . I could see it killing her "STOP LACY STOP YOU CANT LEAVE ME TOO!!" I screamed trying to claw her hand off . " A bright light surrounded us and she was gone leaving me alone in her room . hearing foot steps approaching I grabbed the book and hid In the hidden crawl space . holding in my sobs. "DIRTY WHORE " A deep male voice rasped "SHES GONE LEX WILL BE DISPLEASED " another said . "LETS GO SHES GONE .. WERE WASTING TIME " the gem glowed around my neck I held it in my palm and silently cried . As they left the room slamming the front door and I was left alone surrounded by death .

Darren pov.
She cried herself to sleep and I could do nothing. Nothing but hold her close and promise she would be safe I would lay down my life before I let something happen to her. I kissed her forehead , then her nose both her cheeks and finally her lips . This made me smile even in her sleep she looked like an angel....my fallen angel . "Darren don't leave me alone ...I don't think I could take someone walking out of my life again ...it would kill me ." She mumbled a lone tear dancing down her cheek ." I will never leave you , you are my beloved my other half my soulmate don't ever forget that princess ." I said to her kissing her pouty lips I meant every word too. After some time she finally fell asleep . I soon followed after her scent calming me she smelled like the rain and fresh violets.

*BEEP BEEP BEEP *
I jumped into a defensive position searching the room for any danger . "Relax James Bond it's the alarm clock " my little mate called from the bed hair a mess yawning and stretching like a cat . Giving me quite the view of her back side . I smirked and took a step back to appreciate the view . As if feeling my eyes her head snapped in my direction. "Enjoying the view pervert" she arched a eyebrow at me in amusement.

Ariana pov.
"Why yes I am mate " he said stalking towards me in a predatory manor. I pushed myself flush against the head bord . He smirked small fangs on show . "RAWR" i screamed and pounced "THE HUNTER HAS BECOME THE HUNTED " i said nipping his lips . And running into my bathroom laughing like a Waco. "ARI!!! ... GET YOUR BUTT BACK HERE!!" "NEVER!!" I shouted from the inside of the bathroom turning on the shower . Lucky I grabbed my phone before I ran in here . Turning on the little wireless speaker in the shower and connecting it to my phone via Bluetooth.
Knee socks by the arctic monkeys began playing ,stripping I jumped into the hot water relaxing my back instantly .I hummed softly to the beat .
"You got the lights on in the afternoon "

Picking up my shampoo that smelled like the rain , lathering up my hands and scrubbing my hair . Washing my hair then grabbing my conditioner running it through my hair and wrapping it up to let it soak up . Washing my body with a violet scented body wash then quickly shaving my legs and everything else I hate body hair eww. Rinsing my hair and reluctantly turning of the water and stepping out I wrapped my body in a fluffy white towel. I mentally screamed I didn't bring any clothes to change into biting my lip I called out "Darren?" "Yeah ..?" Came his distant reply. I think he's in the kitchen quickly poking out my head I scanned my room cost is clear I made a mad dash for the door locking it . I let go of the breath I had been holding and walked over to my closet. And slipped on some dark blue skinny jeans my combat boots and a sweater with a little cat sticking out of the pocket it was so cute because when you pulled down the pocket the cat was flipping the bird haha favorite sweater ! I let my hair air dry and walked over to my vanity . Doing a smokey eye and cat wing to make my eyes pop and a nude brown color on my lips . Looking over my self I grabbed a beanie my hair doing its usual curls . I grabbed my mothers locket and slipped in around my neck under my shirt it rested against my chest out of sight. I grabbed my messenger bag and ran down stairs to the smell of food . I kissed Darren on the cheek as he passed me a plate with waffles bacon and strawberries. And a muffin I bit my lip and smiled . Thank you love I said kissing the back of his neck as he made a plate for him self and sat down next to me . He stared at me expectantly I took a bite very slowly and raised an eyebrow at him . Darren looked so nervous like he might piss his pants or something. I smiled and kissed his lips "it's delicious mi amor " I said and finished of the waffle and bacon . Leaving the strawberries for last " oh good I was worried you wouldn't like it " I laughed it was amazing love thank you looking past him at the clock I screamed " IM SO FUCKING LATE!!!" I grabbed the muffin kissed Darren one last time and ran out side Darren easily keeping pace with me . And stoping at the sight in front of me . "Is that your car Darren " I said sounding out of breath it was gorgeous , "that's an Alpha Romeo 4c!!!" I said running over to the car . Darren came up behind me and said "hop in ill drive you angel" i nodded and sat in the passenger seat. Darren climbed in . The engine roared to life "seat belt babe" he playfully said . I nodded and clipped the belt in place " and what about you Darren seat belt " I said in the same playful tone " I'm immortal ari I don't need a seat belt " he said in a cocky tone . I slapped his soulder " don't give me that put it on or I'll get a ride with my neighbor josh who has a crush on me " I said In the same cocky tone raising my eyebrow for effect. Darren growled "Your mine I won't let some horrny boy near you Ariana !!" Then put on your seat belt Darren " I glared back . He mumbled something under his breath but complied after he saw I wasn't giving in . I smiled a triumphant smile and plugged my iPhone into the audio jack . And "trini dem girls " by nikimajis filled the speakers and Darren speed off .
