Chapter 16 : Red Eyes and Blue Skys

Damon's pov .
I run with all the energy I have left . Her body feels so cold in my arms I don't know what to do . I open the door and run to her room laying her down gently on her stomach. Trying to measure the damage to her spinal cord I unzip her dress leaving her only in a lacy black bra and panties I don't have time to enjoy the view though as I softly run my hands down her back her spinal cord has been completely severed . I look back to Ariana and run my hands through my hair roughly. I look back at her face she looks ...dead but I can hear the steady beat of her heart along with some internal bleeding . "She's going to die soon " I look back at Ariana her eyes the icy blue Darren told me about . "Marina?" I barely manage to say. Her voice chills me to the core . "Do you want to save her?" She questions . "Yes I do what do I do a human doctor will do nothing even I know that " I say biting my lip . A devilish look in her eyes " give her your blood ... I can't heal her all on my own I need your help " I feel the color drain from my face . " If I do that she will turn " the uncertainty shaking me . "And if you do nothing she will die ...Everything has already been written , your decision has already been made even if you yourself have not yet decided  even you should know no one can escape fates grasp. " I bite my lip in pure frustration and fear I glance back at my beautiful girl , I don't know what to do won't she hate me for taking the option away from her? "We're running out of time " Marina whispers as she coughs up more blood . I look back at her tears threatened to spill as I lay her on her back kissing her softly on the for head "forgive me my love " I whisper to her leaning  my head back letting my fangs come down , sinking them into the soft flesh . A smooth warmth filled my mouth making us both moan . I have had blood before to many times to count but this has to be the sweetest ... purest I've ever tasted . Reminding my self of the task at hand I pull away a small trail of blood going down my neck I bite my tongue  and slip it into her mouth she opens her eyes no longer icy blue but bright green ari I'm going to save you even if you hate me for this ...the kiss turns passionate the blood going to work right away I feel the warmth retuning to her body .

Ariana pov. (Ari)

I feel so cold fading in and out of consciousness, I see Damon he looks so scared as he runs with all his might . I can see the trees fly by in a blur , but my eyes are drawn back to the tears that threaten to fall his eyes are glassy . I want to reach out and tell him not to worry kiss away his frown . Everything fades to black again I don't know how long I've been out but it's hard to open my eyes or any part of my body for that matter . "Let me help ari" I hear marinas voice echo softly in my mind she sounds tired . Finally being able to open my eyes I see damon roughly running  his hands though his hair ..he looks scared yet determined as he leans down and whispers to me "forgive me my love " as he places a gentle kiss on my forehead . Leaning back down to my neck he opens his mouth four sharp fangs catch my attention as they sink into my skin . It hurts ..it burns I squirm into his touch and try to resist as the pain abruptly subsidies leaving only hot pleasure in its place I moan softly as does Damon . He licks the wound I gaze at him with heavy eyes as he leans down and kisses me forcing his tongue into my mouth along with a warm copper taste when I realize it's blood I try to push him away . When I realize it tastes sweet as the warm substance slide down my throat I feel it slowly fixing my body . I can move again in no time flipping a surprised Damon under me sucking on his tongue as I straddle him . I feel him trail his hands down my spine as he hummed happily . "Mhm!" I yip pulling back as the blood trails down my lips as my teeth begin to ache I run to the mirror on my vanity opening my mouth as four petite fangs adorns my mouth much like Damon's only smaller I look in the mirror again my eyes no longer green or blue but blood red . My heart beats extremely fast as I see Damon wrap his arms around me, seeing for the first time damon with red eyes he kisses the bite and I relax tremendously as he sits me on his lap In front of the white vanity as I continue to lightly touch my fangs . "My my just look at that blue sky .." I whisper as I lean  into Damon's chest looking out the large window behind the vanity . I'm not mad at Damon I know he only did it to save my life but what exactly does this mean ..won't Darren be mad? I wonder glancing in the mirror again as I see a small black moon slowly appear on my skin where Damon had bit me . "Now you bare my mark " he mumbles against my skin . I blush furiously and hide behind my hands as he softly laughs "I'm so glad your safe now " he whispers into my ear holding me closer as I feel something wet drip on my shoulder blade as I smile softly tears falling down my own face I feel more connected to Damon now I can feel his emotions I think I can hear his thoughts..i wonder as I hear a faint whisper , not coming from his mouth but his thoughts...
~Damon's thoughts~
(I can't believe I almost lost her ..I will never let anyone try to take her from me again I will not lose another mate for give me Lilith but it seems the gods have taken pity on my broken soul )

Who's Lilith? I can't help but wonder as I block out his thoughts  ...I shouldn't pry .
