Unrequited Love (under-revision)

Today is the scheduled day of our underground meeting with Zake and Zeus. Seeing Zeus right now, I could say that he gained a bit of weight. It’s been so long since the last time we met. Although it’s so obvious in his eyes that he hasn’t been sleeping for days.

I cleared my throat when Kaiden nudged me. 

“Mair is a spy from Zelda, which means he works for the mafia to spy on you.” I explained, showing various photos of Mair with the tattoo.

“Mair?” Zake interrupted. Yes, Mair. How can they not even notice Mair acting suspiciously? Are they that carefree when it comes to their reapers? Lol.

“Yeah. Turns out that killing him was a blessing in disguise.” I responded and continued what I’m supposed to say. “You recruited this man recently.” 

I showed them a photo of Leo inside their mansion next. The photo was taken through the CCTV footage inside their mansion, the assassins were able to—wait. Something happened with the evil’s eye the night after our wedding and in the morning Mom was outside. Is it possible that she was able to track us using the evil’s eye? Zelda was coming after her though.

“He works in Zelda as well.” Kaiden said in monotone nung hindi ako nagsalita.

Zake gritted his teeth, with the way his brows furrowed I could see his frustration. He’s been fooled two times with the same agenda. They’re stupid—HE’S stupid. 

“This tattoo automatically symbolizes Zelda. Only my husband and I know this tattoo because we once fought with them in the past before my Mom died.” My Mom? Should I even call that woman Mom? 

They repeatedly nodded. I was about to continue speaking when someone entered the room, wearing a nice suit….with a smile plastered on his face when he saw me. What the hell is he doing here?

“Achie?”

My eyes widened. He’s not someone’s twin right? Am I hallucinating? No, I don’t think so. Ilang beses ko pang kinurap ang mata ko to make sure if he is real. He’s really here!

“Hi, Cali.” 

He greeted me with his usual smile! Naupo siya sa tabi ni Zeus. What’s the meaning of this? Hindi ko na siya nabati pabalik dahil sa sobrang pagkagulat. I mean knowing that he is in the underground meeting and sitting next to Zeus….he’s probably in the mafia. 

“He is Zeus’ undercover bodyguard in AIU, he’s his right-hand.” Zake explained when he saw my face. 

Bodyguard in AIU? I still couldn’t comprehend seeing him in a nice suit and having the knowledge that he’s part of the mafia. I thought he was just a normal student by then. Turns out he is something more. Wow!

“I’m sorry,” I apologized nung nakabawi ako sa pagkagulat. “Hey.” I greeted Achie back.

Lalo namang lumaki ang ngiti niya.

“So you agreed to work with us?” Zeus asked kaya napalingon ako sakaniya.

He was casually tapping his fingers on the table creating an annoying sound while looking at me directly in the eye.

I crossed my arm. “In one condition.”

“Fire it away.” He said and leaned on his chair. May pagmamayabang sa boses.
