We ran for a while but eventually stopped along a sandy bank where we drank our fill.

Now, I could feel the pull from my mate. He wasn't coming after us and to be completely honest, I was glad.

Sometimes, you need time away from people.

I found a shady place under a tree and fell asleep quickly not needing anything else.

-------•--------------------------------------•-------

When I awoke, the soft ground around the bank was now cold cement. My body was cold and limp on the grey floor.

The area where I lay was enclosed by silver bars that created the aura of a prison.

My eyes widened and I jumped up, running to the silver bars. I tried to touch them but when my finger brushed against the silver, a violent sizzle sounded across the room. If that's what you could call it.

A bang resounded throughout the prison and footsteps clattered down the stairs. I narrowed my eyes at the expensive shoes that poked out from the stone wall hiding my captor.

In very few seconds, Jesse stepped from around the wall, covered in a luxurious suit.

I rolled my eyes and groaned inwardly. I stood there and crossed my arms over my chest.

"What do you want?" I asked harshly.

"Well, I've noticed that you and the alpha have grown to like each other." He gives me a smirk.

"Your point is?"

"I want to put an end to that. Allie, I don't care what that asshole says, you are mine." He gave me a grin and walked over towards me. He opened the cell quickly and pulled me out.

I tried to push away from him but he gripped my hands. His eyes were solid black, telling me his wolf is in control. Jesse pulled me closer to him. He lowered his head down to my neck.

His mouth moved to where my mark would go when Steele and I get to that step in our relationship. Jesse bit down. Tears filled my eyes. I wanted to scream but not a single noise came out.

------------

I woke up in the grey cell again. My head was pounding. I felt like my skull was about to explode. My neck ached a little. I ran my hand down my neck, until I came upon the mark. Images flooded into my head. My argument with Steele, the tree and falling asleep, waking up in the cell, them worst of them all, Jesse marking me.

I let out a small whimper. I would have never wanted Jesse to mark me. Steele should have been the one to do that not him. A large wave of rage hit me. I wanted to find Jesse and beat the shit out of him for marking me without my permission.

Steele's POV

I remained in the basement after Allie left. I wish that she was here with me. I just want to hold her in my arms.

Pain shot through me quickly as I screamed and held the side of my neck. I heard footsteps running down the stairs.

'What the hell is happening?' I asked my wolf.

'It's Allie. She is marked by another.' My wolfs voice was filled with pain.

I felt a strong urge to break something.

I stood up carefully and liked around the room. My beta, third command, and the pack doctor were staring at me worriedly.

"Steele, what happened?" My beta, Xavier, asked.

"Allie was marked by someone else." I whispered, taking sudden interest in my shoes.

Allie's POV

I looked around the room slowly. I tried not to move my head too fast with my headache. I spotted Jesse in the far corner. He was staring at me.

His eyes were back to his normal grey color.

"You finally woke up. My wolf was in control when that happened." He motioned at the mark in my neck. "But, I don't regret it."

"Jesse, Just let me go." I tried to sound firm but honestly, I'm scared out of my mind.

"Sorry I can't do that, but I can let you out in a little bit. The catch is that you will be handcuffed to me. Not that it is a bad thing." Jesse grinned.

I avoided his gaze. I looked around the room and saw a door a few feet beside Jesse. It looked unlocked.

"Hey Jesse." I batted my eyelashes trying to look like I meant what I was about to say.

"Hm?" He gave me his undivided attention.

"Can you let me out please. I just want to be with you. I want you to hold me in your arms."

"Allie, do you really mean that?" He looked cautious.

"I do. I really do, I promise."

He looked like he was having an internal battle with common sense which he doesn't have much of.

Jesse pushed himself off the wall and walked over to the cell. He hesitantly opened it without touching the bars and I practically fling myself into his arms, hating the feeling of it.

He snuggled his nose into my hair and I elbowed him in the gut, causing him to flinch back.

"Dammit!" Jesse growled and he grabbed my arm, throwing me back into the cell. I ran over and tried to slip out before he closed the door. Instead, I felt the heated sensation of skin burning.

I laid in a heap by the back wall, a small, traitorous tear slipping down my cheek.
