After the conference, Rohit rushed as soon as he could to the hotel to Virat's room. He was about to barge in when he heard Virat saying, " I really shouldn't have let him go, Jinks, he shouldn't do all this when I'm here. He shouldn't be doing or facing things when I'm here. He gets so much love from the fans and media and I don't."
Rohit was astonished that Virat would say such a thing.
Virat sounded like he was jealous of him.
Like he was almost insecure..???
Rohit felt tears blurring his vision because he had never imagined, in a million dreams, that Virat could think something like this.
He swiftly went to his room without checking up on Virat.
He knelt beside his bed and a single tear rolled down his cheek.

Earlier, in Virat's room after Rohit had left
Jinks had taken up his new novel, silently reading it, while sitting comfortably on the couch as Virat slept.
About an hour later, he saw Virat waking up, so he immediately rushed to his side. He propped some pillows behind Virat's back as he sat up.
"Feeling better now, Vi?" asked Jinks softly.
Virat smiled and nodded.
"What are you reading there, Jinksy?" asked Virat in a cheerful voice.
"Oh, this, it is The Fault in our Stars", replied Jinks.
"Eww, you are reading a cheesy romantic novel; that too such a tragic one. You'll probably be a crying mess at the end."
"Hey, I like it and it is not cheesy. It is pretty good. And look who's talking about romance and tragedies? I think it's you who cries every time we watch a tragic or sad movie" said Jinks raising his eyebrows.
"Huh, I don't like romance and tragedies and I don't cry", said Virat pouting.
"Oh really! Who stayed up all night crying in Nush and Ro's arms all night when we guys watched Ae Dil Hai Mushkil?"
(P.S. I don't know about you all, but after Ayan and Alizeh's vacation, all I did in that movie was crying, either from happiness or their friendship or Ayan's heartbreak)
"I didn't cry", huffed Virat, folding his arms.
"Then what about the time when we watched Mahi Bhai's biopic? Who was crying when he hit the winning six?"
"You all were crying too. Moreover, did you see me cry when we actually had won the Cup? That just proves that I don't cry", said Virat proudly.
"You're impossible Virat", muttered Jinks under his breath.
"Is Rohit back yet?" asked Virat, tensing up once again.
"No", said Jinks laughing, "If he had, he would have been sitting beside you, eating my head as always", he muttered the last part.
"Yeah", said Virat smiling fondly.
Jinks suddenly remembered Virat's unusual behaviour earlier that evening so he decided to ask him about it.
