Kimi and Yuhan had just got down from the auto – rickshaw, when they met Nimit and Sachit.
"How come the two of you are together?" Nimit asked with a raised brow.
"Long story, guys," Kimi replied, as she sensed Yuhan stiffening beside her. "Will fill you in later. Let's get inside the college first."
Nimit and Sachit nodded, though not fully satisfied with the answer. The four of them entered the gates and were making their way to the class when Aryan came running towards them.
"Kimi, Yuhan, come on," he said, in a panicked voice. "Yuhan's father is here. And he is demanding to remove Viren sir from the college."
The other four were shocked hearing this, and dashed towards the principal's office. They reached there to find Bali and Daksh already present there. Well, the entire college was present there as a matter – of – fact. Daksh was looking really tensed.
"Kimi, Daksh, I am sorry guys," Yuhan said in a teary tone. "It's all because of me. I shouldn't have come to your house last night. I am so sorry, guys, I am so sorry."
Saying this, he broke down. Kimi, though tensed about her uncle, reached out to comfort him. However, when she looked at Daksh, she saw the anger in his eyes, as he looked at Yuhan and then at her. There was a lot to handle now.
Soon enough, the door to the principal's office opened and Viren walked out of it leisurely, followed by the calm – looking yet agitated principal and a fuming Pradip Ratnaparkhi. Yuhan had calmed down by then.
"This is simply outrageous, Mr. Mhatre," Mr. Ratnaparkhi said, still trying to prove his point. He was a lawyer after all. "I can't believe that you are not taking a parent's consideration into account."
"The parent's consideration needs to be valid, to be taken into account," replied Principal Mhatre, with a suffering sigh. "I can't stop a student from following his/her interest. Just because your son interacts with Professor Viren, I can't take away his job. And you need to prove to me, that he has influenced your son to leave the house. There is no such evidence. So please, stop making such absurd claims."
There were a lot of gasps and murmurs, when the principal mentioned that Yuhan had left his house. The four friends were looking at Yuhan and Kimi, while Bali was strongly holding Daksh back lest he does something foolish.
Pradip looked at the group of friends, gathered there, with contempt. He just couldn't believe that his quiet, soft – spoken and obedient son had changed so drastically in a matter of days. He looked at his son, who was looking at him with sheer hate.
"I am asking you one last time, Yuhan, are you coming back home with me?" Pradip asked, keeping his tone as calm as possible.
"No," replied Yuhan, with a determined look in his eyes.
"Have you even thought that these people aren't going to be looking after you forever?" asked Pradip with a smirk. "They are not your family to fend you for all your life."
"Who said I was going to live with them forever, Dad?" Yuhan said, with a no – nonsense look. "It was just a matter of one night. I am shifting to a hostel today itself. I have paid the initial rent there, with the money that I was gifted by Nanu since the past few years for my academic performance. Also I would be starting home tuitions, once I have gotten hold of the college schedule. That money will be enough to buy food and pay the rent. That leaves the problem of college fees. Well, I have already talked to Nanu about it. And he is ready to pay my college fees, from the money he was going to give to Mom."
