I lay, gazing at my galaxy painted ceiling. The drive was a complete waste. The man did nothing and joel chatted my ear off the entire time. I huffed annoyed. Why couldnt i just get one lead? I toy with the gun in my hand. This is the gun i was supposed to use on my mother, but some idiot decided to do it first.
I crept down the hall, not wanting to be heard. I heard a scream and rushed down the stairs. The metal gun felt cool in my hand as i clenched it tightly, my knuckles turning white. My breath hitched in my throat as i saw my little sister standin infront of my mother. She cackled.
" you thought i wouldnt know what you were up to. Dont think i dont know about that gun you have in your hand." She laughed. " youre just so stupid. I should have fed you to the wolves when you were born." I glared at her as sydney ( my little sister) trembled with fear.
" you wouldng hurt sudney. Shes your golden child. You only hate me." I countered.
She nodded. " true but you love her more." She replied. I cocked the gun and my mother pulled out a long, sharp knife. My eyes widened.
"N-" i started but was interrupted with a loud crash. The front door hung open, wavering on on its hinges as a tall man dressed in black stood in the threshold. My mothers neck spun around at 300 mph, yet she wasnt quite fast enough. A bullet flew through the air. Flying towards her. I cried out for my sister, telling her to move out of the way. But she didnt move quick enough. My mum wretched the blade against sydney's throat just as the bullet burried itself in her chest. Blood poured out of both of them, pooling on the floor, mixing. I turned to the man but he had already fled. I fell to the floor and wept. Not for my mother but for the eight year old girl who layed in her mothers arms, who she'd loved deeply, with a slit throat. Her round little face slack and lifeless. I was going to miss her little voice, humming in her ears. If my sister was to never talk again, neither was i.
