Chapter 13

ROSS' POV

        I was sitting at the kitchen table right next to the tv room. I sat there with a cup of hot cocoa with marshmellows from my mother. I heard the doorbell ring and hoped someone else would get it. No one did. It rang again and I pulled myself out of the wooden chair and crawled to the tv room.

        "Would it kill you to answer the do...," I stopped speaking when I saw Rydel sitting on the couch with Ellington. There was a huge carton of chocolate ice cream and a box of pop tarts and popcorn positioned between them. Rydel had tears in her eyes and El handed her a box of tissues. I went around to face the tv and saw Bella kissing Edward. "Twilight, again?" I asked, both shushed me.

        I continued towards the door. I opened it up and saw Mr. and Mrs. Marano standing on the porch. Mrs. Marano was holding a big box.

        "He-hello Ross." Mrs. Marano choking on her tears. "We f-found this box under L-Laura's bed. It had a bunch of pictures. Mo-most of them had y-you in them so I thought i-it would be b-best if you h-had them." then she exploded with tears. Coughing through the streams of tears she shoved the box into my hands. I opened the box and pulled out the picture on the top of the stack. It was little baby Laura and someone who looked just like her.

        "Wait? Who's the girl standing next to Laura in this picture?" I asked

        "Oh." Mrs. Marano said her face falling, "th-that was Laura's identical twin sister. She was kidnapped when she was five years old. The police called off the investigation about two years ago and pronounced her dead." The tears returned to her eyes, and she turned away.

        "Have a nice morning Ross" Mr. Marano called as he led his wife to their car.

        "Um. You too." I called back. I walked back into the house and past Delly and El. In a daze I made my way up to my room. I shut and locked the door to my room. I fell onto my bed, and ripped open the top of the box. The next picture was a selfie of me and Laura infront of a ride at the Halloween Fair. I began crying and looked at the rest of the pictures. There was about eight more pictures with Laura's mystery sister. Who is she? What role does she play?
