ROSS' POV

I woke up from another Laura enduced nightmare, this time she was drowning in a river and I was tied to nearby tree. All I could do was watch her fight the current and drown screaming my name and begging for mercy. I got up and threw on the same jeans I wore yesterday and a shirt from the floor. Without Laura I had no one to correct me on my clothes or smell. I grabbed a piece of underdone toast and half a cup of orange juice. Rydel was at the kitchen table texting someone, Brad probably. Last night I heard Ellington yelling at Riker in the room next door after Rydel left for another date.

I entered my room for the second time and plopped down on my bed after closing the door. I noticed something with words written on it taped on the outside of my window. I unlocked the window and pulled it up releasing the piece of photo paper. On one side there was a picture of a river lined with trees in the middle of a wood. The place was Ridge River, one of Laura's favorite places. She had introduced it to me last summer, then it became "our place". The other side said: call me (smiley face) then the phone number was writen again.

I ripped of a piece of tape and added the picture and creepy comment to my closet door. I took my phone off the charger and called the number (it was added to favorites).

"Oh hi Ross!" the british girl said to cheerful for my taste at the moment," Laura wanted me to tell you this, just let me find the voice recorder." Suddenly Laura's voice, shaking with fear spoke up.

"Goodbye Ross, I l-love you so so much." The recording ended.

"Where is she?" I asked as calm as possible.

        "Who?" british kidnapper asked.

"Where the f*** is my girlfriend!" I yelled the last word with so much strength I hoped no one else had heard.

"Again Ross with the cursing, naughty naughty. I'm honestly dissapointed that you don't know who I am. Fine I'll give you another hint, first name Julie." Then she hung up. Juilie who? I had met so mnay people named Julie, fans, waitresses, clerks, cops, lots of Julies in the world. I thought about the name for five minutes until my cell rang.

"Hello Ross?" The police officer fwho worked the "Laura Marano Case" as they call it.

"Hello officer, can I help you?" I replied trying to seem as proffesional as possible.

"I have some unfortunate developments in the case. Half an hour ago two fishermen at Ridge River found a body in the river." He said unemotional.

"Did they test the DNA?" I asked shaking in fear tears coming to my eyes.

"I'm so sorry Mr. Lynch, it's Laura." He said unable to grasp how heartbreaking this was. I hung up before I could say goodbye. I sunk down the wall and sobbed, for everything, my dead grilfriend, my broken heart, my insainity for her.
