The alcohol was slowly starting to settle in and forming a light, easy buzz. If it were another day Jennie would have preferred being sober and alert, but the number of people surrounding her everywhere was making her feel overwhelmed.

Hundreds of thousands of people. Squealing and singing and yelling and dancing and god knows what else around her.

All of them are immersed in stunning variations of happiness.

Jennie started to fidget. She knows it's not because she's uncomfortable about having to maneuver through all these people, but she can't seem to put her finger on it just yet.

Her fingers nervously twisted around her rings, a habit she's picked up less than a year ago. Well. It used to be only that diamond on top of her engagement ring that her thumb automatically goes for, as if running the edges of it physically on her skin reminds her of all her good days.

Now there are two.

The other, a meticulously crafted ring that was meant to circle around her engagement ring as an accompaniment when stacked together, came around just a month ago.

Jennie couldn't help but bite her lips to stifle a smile. It still hasn't fully dawned on her this new era of her life, even now that they're on their months-long sabbatical travel honeymoon. With her mother promising to take care of their two fur babies, they flew into Switzerland and went around the places Lisa spent her young summers in. They stayed at her step-father's house for less than two weeks before doing a road trip and spending a few days in Châteauroux, then on the road again to catch an underground music scene in Bobigny and getting drunk in the streets of Paris. They finally took a train to London on Wednesday to take a proper breather before exploring the city.

Speaking of which, where IS her wife?

Jennie surveyed the crowd again with worried eyes when she was jolted by a warm hand that snaked her left palm. It was an unmistakable habit unique to the love of her life, where long fingers caress slowly inside her arm and trace towards her palm, ending in those fingers finding their homes in between the gaps that missed Lisa's warmth incessantly.

She looked up and found her tall woman with soft brown doe eyes and a warm, contented smile.

"Hi," Lisa grinned lazily, the tan on her skin from lounging at the pools in the châteaux they rented in France making her glow exquisitely. Her skin always had a better glimmer that Jennie couldn't seem to compete with no matter how much sun she got.

Jennie was suddenly reminded of how she kissed that same tanned skin goodnight, of how she adored touching the bare back of her lover just before she pressed her face on Lisa's neck to fall asleep. Of how Lisa's skin smelled of warm sun and sweet wine and sometimes of her kisses or traces of their making love.

"Hi," The slightly doting silly smile that spread inescapably on her face made Jennie feel a bit foolish, but the butterflies in her stomach since they got married still haven't really rested. Maybe she's allowed to be foolishly in love.

I love you, Jennie's heart eyes were loud amongst the noise of the crowd.

Lisa calmly clenched Jennie's hand in answer, the small smile on her face a little less playful but not any less sincere. I love you, too.

"Here," Lisa handed her an opened bottled water after a while. The two women were sucked in by the energy of the crowd as they surveyed the mass. "I also got us some Maltesers and Snickers bars for later. I was thinking if I'd get us some more beers, but I figured we can just find a good restaurant and have wine at the Soho later. It's not too far from here and I found a few good places from Google."
