CW: smut (will mark where it starts)
All that was left were paper bags and empty cups, all grouped together into a plastic bag. The boys had finished their food, and the sky was slowly turning to night, as the sun mellowed into an orange haze, beginning to set.
George waited his - predicament - out, and with a bit of readjusting here and there was good to go, and was back cuddling with the blonde. Against George's advice, the other three boys dove into the sea straight after eating, for one last time before the tide came in.
The two of them lay in silence, Dream's legs in a v shape, George lying between them with his head on Dream's stomach. Soft fingers stroked through the brunette's hair, his eyes fluttering to stay awake.
"Dream do you think we're moving too fast?" asked George, breaking the silence they were in.
"Do you think we are moving too fast?" asked Dream, not moving.
"I'm happy, like really happy, i just feel like it's all happened really quickly- which isn't, normal, i guess " shrugged George.Dream sighed, "That's cause we aren't in a normal relationship Georgie" said the blonde, "We've both wanted this for so long- there's basically no hesitation in anything"
"No hesitation?" asked George, craning his neck to look at Dream.
"I'm certain on how i feel, i don't know about you" replied Dream.George's mind was thrown back to those nights he sat on call with Sapnap, just venting, ranting, blabbering about Dream. Sapnap didn't even comment when something was weird, or when something didn't make sense - he just sat and listened.
Listened to George hopelessly spill out his heart, albeit he was spilling it out to the wrong person, but it really did help him think about his feelings, and... stuff.
It was maybe the fourth late night call of its kind, when both Sapnap and George realised how deep into these feelings the brunette really was. How it started off as, 'i like the attention he gives me and the flirting we do - but nothing more.' and ended in, 'i'm head over heels for him'.
It was a rollercoaster of emotions over the span of three or four months, the final outcome being that George was serious about these feelings, that Dream was who he wanted.
So in that moment, lying with Dream's hands in his hair, having the confirmation that the blonde felt just as strongly as he had done for so long, George was (a little bit) bold.
"So if you're certain, and I'm definitely certain, then that leaves one option right?" As he said this, he sat up from his lying position, swiftly turning around to sit on Dream's lap.
Dream sat up and wrapped his arms around the brunette until their faces met, matching the energy that George was so clearly radiating.
"Whats that option?" said Dream gently, inches away from the shorter boy's face.
George inhaled deeply, giving him a minute before beginning his question,
"Dream, will you be m-"
"Wait" interrupted DreamGeorge's heart rose to his mouth. He wasn't seriously going to get rejected right now- was he?
"I wanna be the one to ask"
And with that, George's heart returned to its normal place in his chest, smiling at the blonde's softness.
"George, will you be my boyfriend?"
"Yes you dummy"And for the second time that night, the two boys smashed their lips together, lips soft and pressure gentle, but the love behind it undoubtedly strong.
However, it didn't last long, before George got up off Dream's lap and turned to head to the ocean.
Dream was left without explanation, and no choice but to follow the brunette down to the water.
