They arrived at the restaurant, a little surf and turf one that had recently opened, a bit further away from the main part of town. The boys had been trying to go for restaurants that were less popular, where their evening wouldn't be so interrupted and stressful from being recognised.
They sat on a booth and three chairs around a table, George and Dream taking the booth and the other three on the chairs.
Dream sat across from Sapnap, and couldn't help but notice the occasional glance he took at George every five or so minutes, subtle, but not subtle enough.
"New ring Sap?" asked Dream, noticing the gold ring on his finger in front of him.
"Oh yeh, Karl got it for me, look"He then proceeded to take Karl's hand and put it next to his, showing two rings, Karl's was a normal ring with a little butterfly charm on the top, Sapnap's was a thick gold ring with a butterfly cut out the centre.
"That's so cool woah" exclaimed George, taking Karl's hand to examine the ring closer.
The three others chatted away, excited about the ring, well George and Karl were, Quackity wasn't so bothered, but pretended to be because his friends were so happy.
"Matching eh?" said Dream to Sapnap, messing with the napkin on his table.
"Hey, don't look at me like that - you're matching outfits" he responded, pointing his finger between the brunette and the blonde."Woah i wasn't looking at you like anything"
"Yes you were"
"Was not"
"There was totally a smirk on you're face"In fact, Sapnap was half right. It wasn't so much of a smirk, more a smile, a grin perhaps - a pathetic one, one that spread across his face before he could do anything about it.
"I'm just smiling" shrugged Dream
"Okay what at?"
"Us"
"What?" laughed Sapnap
Now Dream was laughing too, "I don't know, we're just"
"Don't say it"
"Simps"Sapnap swiped his cutlery to one side of the table, not actually wanting to make a mess, and got up from his chair and walked away.
Of course the other three boys were entirely confused, while Dream struggled to catch his breath from the uncontrollable laughing. Sapnap didn't actually have anywhere to walk to, so just sat back down, laughing too.
It broke the tension a lot, whatever George and the other two had been scheming the last couple days had really distracted Dream from just having fun with his friends.
Sapnap refused to explain the joke, because that would involve admitting to being a simp, even though it was a well known fact already, but whatever.
Their food arrived, multiple plates consisting of different slices of steak, shrimp, scampi and some greens scattered in amongst it all. There were three buffet style plates between five of them, a delicious array of surf and turf goodness.
It didn't take long for the food to be finished, after days of fast food and pasta the real cooking tasted even better than it normally would.
They stacked up their plates and pushed them to the end of the table, all whilst mutually agreeing they were too full to order dessert.
The five of them talked for a little bit longer, finishing off the last of their drinks and soaking in the last of their time together before Karl left the next day.
But soon, there was only ice left in the bottom of the cups and not much daylight outside, drawing the night to a close.
"Do you have any cash for a tip?" asked Sapnap, noticing his wallet was bare.
"Oh shit no" replied Dream, shoving his hands in his pockets, patting them down for anything, "Do you?" he asked, towards the other three.
