Dream was almost certain that what he was feeling wasn't jealousy, but the feeling he felt when he saw George pull Sapnap into his room when they arrived home, proved different.
The drive home from the mall had been uneventful, certainly less chaotic then the ride on the way there. Almost as soon as they stepped into the house George took Sapnap's hand and led him upstairs.
The look on Sapnap's face was reassuring to Dream, by the looks of it he didn't know what was going on either - but still.
Dream was left stood at the bottom of the stairs as the two ran off, not even being secretive about it. If it wasn't for Quackity, Dream probably would have stood there for ten minutes straight, lost in his overthinking.
"Ahhh" the boy in the beanie had said, with a large exhale, "What do you think they're talking about?" he asked, reaching up to place a hand on the blonde's shoulder.
"I wish i knew" he replied, his words coated with a layer of salt and jealousy, something he didn't intend to do.
"Ah come on dude, it's fine"
"Yeh i know i know" Dream said, rubbing the palm of his hand on the back of his neck and walking to sit on the couch."Doesn't sound like it, wassup?" replied Quackity, jumping cross-legged onto the seat next to him.
"It's just- I- Oh i don't know, it's stupid" began Dream, stumbling and fumbling over his words.Quackity was going to jump in with some reassurance, some advice on how it's not stupid, but was interrupted by the heavy footsteps of Sapnap running down the stairs to join the two on the sofa.
He had this confusing look on his face, one that looked as though it was suppressing a smile, but it could have easily been worry? Dream had no idea.
"What were you two talking bout?" asked Quackity, coming to realise that Dream wasn't going to ask.
"Oh, nothing"
"Well it must have been something"
"Mmmm no, nope it wasn't" replied Sapnap, subtly avoiding eye contact, "Come on, we gotta get ready for dinner" he continued, a not-so-subtle change of conversation. That conversation change was true though, they had booked a table for dinner in about an hour - and the drive was about 15-20 minutes. Sapnap ran up the stairs to his room, Quackity a few steps behind him.
Dream however, decided to wallow in his self-pity, and slowly take it step by step up the stairs, not really thinking about anything, but simultaneously everything.
He looked up from his feet to meet the eyes of Quackity, who had now stopped on the top step and was looking down at him.
"Talk to him"Dream knew exactly who he was talking about, the gesture to the room that George was sitting in helped clarify too.
He couldn't tell if he was being paranoid or what, but he did know that the only way of putting his mind at ease was to confront it.
"Hey" said George, watching as his boyfriend slowly edged into the room.
"Hey" Dream responded, noticing George had showered and was laying on the bed, very casually."What are you wearing tonight?"
"Umm" Dream had to think, "I dunno it's kind of hot, maybe shorts?"
"What colour?"
"Cream, probably I- why?"
"Nothing"Oh god. Here we are again, 'nothing'. That was the second 'nothing' of the day. If Dream got one more 'nothing' he might possibly just lose it.
Okay, maybe he was overreacting a little. Just a little.
"What were you and Sap talking about?" asked Dream, flicking through his wardrobe for a shirt to wear, remembering what Quackity had said to him.
"Oh that, right yeh, um, that was, it didn't matter"
