Third person's pov:
The clock on the wall reads five minutes to midnight when Daryl and Carl's room door opens.
Tucker walks over to Carl and hands him the letter from Anna.
"Special delivery." He smirks when he hands it to him.
When he leaves Carl quickly rips the envelope open and begins reading with Daryl reading over his shoulder.
'Dear Carl,
I love you. Charlie has given me the chance to say this to you one last time before it's to late. He says that he will kill me tonight at midnight.
I'm sorry for what happened that night, I never should have ran into the woods, it was my mistake, not yours.
You'll be ok without me. Someday you will meet another girl, one who's prettier and smarter and funny, and you'll fall deeply in love with her. And it's ok. Your heart has room for two.
Please don't try to avenge me. If you truly love me, you will do what I ask of you. Go home. Home is where your father and sister are. They're waiting for you.
Thanks for being one of the best reasons I had to live. Goodbye, love. I'll catch you on the flip side.
Your's truly,
Anna.'
Carl's face drops as he reads the whole letter and hears a gunshot echo into the cool night air.
"No." He whispers.
Daryl starts furiously banging on the door. After a minute or so he realizes that it's useless and instead slumps down against the door with his head in his hands and cries.
Carl doesn't hold it together any better than Daryl. He sits down on the bed, where he stays crying for the rest of the night.
Moon light pours in through the windows of the room upstairs, a certain chill in the air.
"I'm glad you made the right decision." Charlie says and tucks his gun into his belt before closing the window.
You guessed it, he didn't actually kill her.
Anna's face is emotionless as she lies curled up in a fetal position on the bed.
Charlie crosses over to the bed and lays behind her, placing a hand on her arm. Anna doesn't bother making him move it. She just doesn't care anymore.
The next morning the soldiers let Carl and Daryl go while Anna secretly watches from the window. As they appear smaller and smaller as they walk away, Anna knows that she will never see them again.
