Anna's pov:

Charlie's hand never separates from mine as we follow Evans outside.

I can see herds off in the distance, neither of them touching the fences yet. Soldiers are quickly passing out machine guns and ammunition, preparing themselves for what seems like battle. They line up around the fences, trying to make sure they don't have a lot of spots unprotected.

Charlie grabs two guns from a random crate and hands one to me.

"Tucker!" He shouts. Tucker comes racing over to us. "How many?"

"At least two hundred." Tucker answers, and I feel my hands start shaking.

Charlie's dark eyes search around, landing on something and focusing. I try to spot what he's looking at but he suddenly pushes me behind him.

"Go inside. Lock yourself in my room. Now!" He yells at me.

"No, I can help out here!" I protest, struggling to be heard over the gun fire.

"We don't need you out here, now do what I tell you before I pick you up and carry you." Charlie warns me.

I roll my eyes at him and start to go back to the house, pretending like I'm gonna hide out like a little girl. I duck behind one of the crates of weapons so that I'm hidden from everyone's view.

Why did I have to put this stupid black dress on? It's so annoying.

I squint my eyes to make out something weird in the distance, something I've never seen before with Walkers. I can see a group of Walkers huddling together at a different section of the fence, not even trying to get to the meat inside.

They're... talking?

I strain my eyes to see until something catches my eye. They have weapons in their hands. These aren't Walkers. These are humans disguised as Walkers, and I recognize them.

Carl's pov:

"Go back!" My Dad yells at us. We weren't expecting them to have quite so much ammunition.

I ignore him and keep searching for Charlie. For him. The one I came here for. My eyes sweep numerous amounts of Soldiers, but he's no where to be found. The coward is hiding.

A hand on my shoulder pulls me back.

"Carl, c'mon." Dad says and pulls me over to a little huddle that my group has formed around something.

As we get closer I start to make out the shape of a body through the small gaps that their legs make.

I finally push my way past Glenn and Rosita and I shiver a little when I see Tyreese's body laying on the snow, a bullet straight through his head.

People are yelling at each other, others like Sasha are crying. I feel a wave of guilt. I knew this was what I was sacrificing, but I decided it was worth it in my mind. Now that it's actually happened, it's not. Tyreese is gone.

"Carl, this is enough." Daryl says suddenly.

Everyone looks to either him or me waiting for an explanation.

"Don't. Do. This." I say through my teeth.

"This," Daryl says and motions to Tyreese's lifeless body. "Is your fault! One hundred percent your fault!"

"Hey, Tyreese knew what he was doing. Anna is one of us, and he died trying to help her." Dad says.

I look down at the ground.
