Jack POV

"Guys with colored hair are hot. I don't care what you guys think." I wasn't directing that comment towards anyone in specific.

Cough. Alex Gaskarth. Cough

Of course I couldn't let him know that I was actually giving him the time of day. I was going to have a little more fun with him before I give in to his cheesy pickup lines.

"You're not actually thinking about Alex Won't-Come-To-Terms-With-The-Fact-That-The-World-Doesn't-Actually-Revolve-Around-Him Gaskarth. That guy is so narcissistic." Rian screeches at me.

I roll my eyes. "You have never even had a conversation with him, please have several seats. Besides, he's kind of hot though."

"Rian, have you ever thought to stop and not believe everything you hear?" Zack asks.

Rian contemplates his question but ends up shrugging his shoulders. "Nah, gossip is fun. Like, have you heard about that milk thing going on with Mr. Ross?"

••••••••••

"There goes your man." Rian whispers.

I roll my eyes but look over and sure enough I see Alex approaching us with a small Mexican and his signature smirk.

"Do you happen to have a map? Because I keep getting lost in your eyes."

The guy next to him face palms and I just about double over in laughter. "Oh, god Alex. You couldn't think of anything better? I'm sorry about him, he's a weirdo. I'm Vic, by the way."

I scrunch up my nose. "I've gathered that. I'm Jack."

"I know. Alex is always awkwardly watching you in the distance." Vic says.

"Oh, shut up, Vic." Alex groans but he notices something near the quad. He smirks "Speaking of 'awkwardly watching from a distance', isn't that Kellin coming this way?"
Vic's face flushes and his eyes widen. A raven-haired boy hugs Alex then Vic, resulting in Vic's face to be as red as a tomato. "H-hey Kellin." He stutters out.

"Hi guys. Where is the rest of the gang?" He asks while leaning on Vic's shoulder.

"We were waiting for them, but Alex wanted to come over and talk to Rian, Zack and Jack!" He screams in a robotic voice.

Kellin raises his eyebrows and lets out a small chuckle. "Okay, well, I'll see you guys later, I have to turn in a paper to Mr. Urie." He starts walking the other direction but not before turning around. "Oh and Vic, try not to bump into any innocent bystanders on the way to class."

"You know you're real smooth, Casanova." Alex says while Vic is shaking his head and telling Kellin to wait up.

"They're cute." I state.

"Yeah, but not as cute as we could be. What do you say, Barakat? Let's play Barbie. I'll be Ken and you be the box I come in." I'm not sure how to respond, so with my cheeks burning up I walk off with Alex following suit.

"Aww, are you blushing?" He asks, poking my face.

"What? No, no way! Just take your face over over there." I stupidly say.

"Take my face over there?"

"Yes, your face."

"If I take my face over there, then I would miss out on possible quality conservation with my future boyfriend. We wouldn't want that, now would we?"

I stop and stare at him incredulously. Who does he think he is?

"Cat got your tongue? Did you finally realize that we are destined?" Alex remarks with a smirk.

I don't think that this guy is going to be easy to get through. Should I just say "Fuck off" and we part ways? Or do I give in and let him have the satisfaction of his words actually having an effect on me? He may not be that bad of a guy under the macho man facade. "People are more than the sum of their parts." Thank you third teacher who introduced me to that book. Who knew that some things you learned in elementary would come in handy when dealing with a super persistent, aggressively flirtatious, blue haired beauty. Nice to have random teachings resurface in the good ol' days of high school.

"Alright, I can clearly see that my presence has you at a loss for words. But it'd be a little nice if you would at least acknowledge me."

"Oh, I have acknowledged you. Whether that be out of willingness or not is neither here nor there." I smiled. "So, I have come to the conclusion that maybe...perhaps..."

He smiles that coy smile that he's oh, so famous for. "Perhaps?"

"Perhaps, you aren't so bad. If your intentions are to actually have meaningful conversation and not cheesy one liners that will make me wonder why I ever agreed to talking to you-"

"Ah, come on, one liners are great!"

"Within appropriate timing. Not to just spout out, in hopes that someone will-. You know what. Never mind that. I will let you win this time. One liners are great."

"Why thank you, good sir. Now if you don't mind, I must be on my way. You should, you know, casually slip me those digits. If you don't mind."

"Actually I do mind. I don't think I'll let you have the pleasure of having me in your contacts for a late night phone session, talking about our hopes and dreams or what have you until I know that you have some real depth."

"Wait, wait, wait. We might actually have a chance at late night phone sessions, talking about our hopes and dreams or what have you?"

I was a bit taken back by his tone. He seemed...dare I say, excited at hearing a possibility of us conversing over the phone. That couldn't be.

"Ummm, yes?"

He smiled a great, genuine smile that was actually really nice. "Oh, boy. I...I didn't really think that you would be wiling to give me a chance. I mean, not that I'm saying that you're like some lame-o or anything. That never even crossed my mind! Fuck, I'm kind of rambling now. I sound sort of like Vic. Well, I'm going to go now before I am deemed problematic. Good day to you, kind sir."

He scurried away. What a strange boy.
