It was Sirius's idea. The supposed 'stake out' of James and Lily's first date. You, Remus, and Peter had tried your best to talk him out of it, you really had, but once the idea had been planted there would be no undoing it. Sirius's 'stroke of genius,' as he had put it led the four of the to be inconspicuously sipping butterbeer in a small booth at the Three Broomsticks. The plan was going fine until James turned around and realized you were there.
