Remus had dreamt often you had come to find him. That he had taken your hand and you'd lead him to a better life. But the cold truth was that you had disappeared years ago, leaving Remus alone. You couldn't have known the events that would ensue after you left to spy on the dark lord, of course.

"Where have you come to take me this time?"
"What do you mean, darling? I haven't seen you in years."
"Of course not, you're dead. Only not in this dream. When I open my eyes you'll be gone."
"Remus, I'm not dead, I'm just—"
"You're dead! If you're not dead then that means you left me, and you wouldn't do that! You're dead!"
"I'm so sorry, my love. But I need you to listen to me, I may know a way to bring back James and Lily yet."
