-The day of the eclipse-
Bolt and Himawari were being showered with Kushina's kisses. Naruto and Hinata packed lightly, but Naruto made sure to bring some things that were truly precious to him. Minato made sure to hug his two grandkids before they all left. Kushina was crying and stepped up to speak with her son and Hinata for probably the last time.
"Are you sure about this?" Kushina asked one more time. "You could always just stay here. We'll protect you."
Hinata shook her head with a sad smile. "No matter what, they are my family and I miss them. I can't run from them and a part of me doesn't want to. I'm sorry."
"It's okay sweetie. Just take care of yourselves. Naruto, you do everything you must to protect you're family. Do you hear me?" Kushina commanded staring her son down with red hair beginning to somehow float up and her pointer finger pointed at him.
Naruto gulped. "I will mom. Besides, Hinata and I promise we will come back on the next eclipse."
Minato stepped up to stand beside his wife. "Good. We'll be expecting you then. All of you in one piece."
Naruto and Hinata nodded and reached out to grab onto their children. Hinata held her daughter's hand while Naruto held his son's hand. All of them watched as the sunny sky began to slowly fade into night. Together all of them walked away.
"We'll see them again." Minato reassured his wife.
"We better or I will personally go over there and give them a piece of my mind." Kushina promised and her eyes flashed dangerously.
Knowing he couldn't stop his wife, he just let her be. Minato and Kushina walked away in the opposite direction of their son, Hinata, and grandchildren.
Bolt was aware of what was happening. He was already informed of the truth between his mother and father. His parent's decided not to tell Himawari yet as she was too young to understand.
The family of four walked through the divide and into Hinata's home world. They didn't have to walk far. Several people were already lined up waiting for them with Hiashi and his wife in front. Hinata noticed all of them slowly adopt a furious expression as they all came to the conclusion that Hinata had children with an outcast. It seemed all of them were prepared for multiple scenarios but this was not one of them. Hanabi stood next to Neji with a relieved face most likely from seeing that Hinata was safe. As Hinata glanced at Neji, she noticed his face was emotionless. It saddened Hinata to see that expression on her dear cousin. His emotionless face brought back painful memories from long ago.
Hinata's mother looked worried while her husband looked disappointed and regal. Hinata breathed in and stepped forward. Her family followed her lead. She bowed upon reaching her parents.
"Father. Mother."
Her mother's worried face had Hinata fearing what her father would do. Hiashi turned and left leaving Hinata no choice but to follow after him. Naruto and their children were about to follow but guards and Neji blocked their path. Hinata's mother sent them away and motioned Naruto to follow her. Naruto hesitated, but he remembered Hinata's kind words when speaking about her mother. Nobody noticed Neji going after his cousin and uncle except for Hanabi. She would have gone after him but she decided to follow after her mother and meet her older sister's husband and children. Hanabi wondered how her niece and nephew were like.
------
Hinata stood in front of his father in his office with her head lowered. She was taken by surprise as she was pulled into a hug. Her eyes widened in shock. Her arms remained by her sides too surprised to know what to do.
"I'm glad you are safe and back, my daughter." Hiashi whispered seeping all the sorrow he felt in this single sentence.
Hinata's eyes swelled with tears. The entire time she was away she had been hurting her family. Hinata hugged her father for the first time in an entire century.
"I'm sorry, Father, but I don't regret my decision. I have a loving husband and two beautiful children."
Hiashi pulled away and held her at arm's length. "So you do. I would love to meet them."
"Father, may I ask you something?"
"Of course."
"Why are you not mad? I would have thought.." Hinata trailed off.
Hiashi pondered for a moment before answering. "At first, your mother and I were worried. Then when one of the guard informed us you willingly left and with some boy, I grew angry. Your mother still worried for you. For so long, my anger grew but then Neji came to me. He told me everything and how it was only a matter of time before you did something like this. You've gone six centuries avoiding the eclipse and every day you were growing curious weren't you?" Hinata nodded. "But you followed our orders. I see now hiding the truth behind the eclipse was a mistake and I am just relieved you are back."
"Did Neji really calm you down?" Hinata asked thinking of her nii san.
"Why don't you ask him yourself?"
Hinata sensed a presence outside the door. The door opened and in came Neji who looked emotionless. Hiashi left the room in search of his wife.
"Neji, thank you." Hinata said sobbing as she hugged her cousin in gratitude.
Neji remained as still as stone. Soon, though, he returned the hug.
"I missed you." Neji confessed. "Tenten tried to comfort me, but I was always worried. When the guard informed all of us you left of your own free will I calmed down. I may not have liked your decision but if you were safe then that was all that mattered to me."
They both pulled away. "Would you like to meet my family?"
"I would be honored."
When Hinata and Neji finally found where her parents, Hanabi and family were, they witnessed a sight to behold. Hinata smiled as she watched her parents and Hanabi accepted Bolt and Himawari. Naruto was sitting away from her parents with a wide frightened look. His eyes filled with relief as his princess walked through the door but grew frightened again as his wife's cousin glared at him. Thankfully, Hinata protected her prince.
"Your parents and sister are..." Naruto searched for a word.
Hinata giggled making Naruto smile at her in content. "Everything turned out alright."
"Yeah." Naruto faced his moon princess and Hinata faced her sun prince. "Thank you. For everything."
"I should be thanking you, Naruto."
They both smiled at each other. Both their families approved of the love they shared and they couldn't be anymore happy.
