...The Hunt...

Lewis: You're so disgraceful..
Angel: What kind of monster are you Y/N.
Lewis: It's like a demon disguised as a human.
Angel: I can't even look at you.

As my two old friend turned away from me, I started chasing after them as if that was gonna do something.
I woke up in cold sweat and out of breathe.

Y/N: Damn dreams.

I whispered under my breathe in annoyance. Taking a deep breathe and exhaling to calm myself down, I looked beside me to check on Emma but found I was sleeping next to Ray.

Y/N: Wait what..?

*Flashback*

Emma: You guys are a couple now.
Don: Ya, so you guys should do couples things.

They teased.

Gilda: Oh come on guys.
Ray: So be it then.

He said in his usual monotone voice, while nodding.
I was just trying to vibe and eat a granola bar Greg had given to me but noo. I looked up confused still munching on the granola bar and saw Ray standing over me.

Y/N: Um..want some..?

Ray picked me up from my seat Anderson, making drop my granola bar, and walked to his sleeping back, making me cuddle with him.

Ray: There, couple things.
Y/N: But my granola bar..

*In the present*

Last time I offer a granola bar to you.
I looked at the sleeping Ray I'm annoyance, slightly pouting.
Ok fine I'll still offer you some. Gosh you always find a way to get you're way.

I layed back down and cuddled Ray, later falling back to sleep.

*Time Skip*

I was interacting with the younger kids until I heard Emma call me over. Excusing myself, I walked over to Emma, who was with the other older kids.

Emma: Should we go hunt in the forest? I mean Greg only provides us things like Fruits and Vegetables, and sometimes other random snack. Although we need protein.
Don: I agree that we should go hunt in the forest.

Ray nodded. Inside I was kinda against it, but I knew it was true that we needed some type of protein.
Hesitation overwhelmed me for a second but I quickly hid the hesitation and answered.

Y/N: Y-ya, I agree with you guys.
Emma: Glad were all on the same boat. We'll leave in 10 minutes.

I nodded and faked a smile as Don and Emma walked away to gather their things.

Gilda: I wonder if there's a river or lake nearby. Maybe we can catch some fish or something.
Y/N: Hopefully.

She left to also go gather her stuff, leaving me with Ray.

Ray: Don't worry Y/N.

He saw right through me! I hate him sometimes...ok no I don't.

Y/N: I'll try not too.

I went to gather the things I would most likely need, and was cautious not to leave any weapons behind.
Such as my knife, gun...my other knife, and my bow and arrow.
Even if I sucked at the bow and arrow..

10 minutes have past and I was waiting for Gilda and Ray to finish gathering their things.

Don: They sure take forever.

Ray joined us, leaving us waiting for Gilda.

Don: We weren't talking about you, I swear!
Ray: Like I'd believe that.
Y/N: Also, we?

I slightly chuckled.
Gilda finished and we started for the forest. Being here in broad daylight made me kinda nervous. I viewed my surroundings cautiously, Don noticed this and tilted his head in confusion.

Don: Y/N what are you doing?

Ray and Emma looked at me, then realized.

Y/N: Oh just keeping an eye out for any type of animal that can be edible.

I smiled. From the corner of my eye, I saw Emma frown but quickly put a smile on her face.

Don: That's a great idea.

He started scanning the area the same as I did.

Gilda: Guys. Rabbits.

In unison we all turned our heads and found like 4 rabbits. Well this sucks, they're just minding their own business and now that we found them..

Ray and Don pointed their bow and arrows at the rabbits and as soon as they got the right aim, they shot.
3 rabbits started fleeing but I quickly took my knife out and perfectly threw it, directly hitting a rabbit before it can reach a bush.

Don: Woahh! You gotta teach me how to do that!
Gilda: That was perfect aim.

As they praised me for my actions, Ray stood next to me, slightly smiling while Emma looked like she was thinking about how we easily killed some adorable rabbits.

Finally, I went to go retrieve my knife and the rabbit that I had just killed.

Emma: Should we hunt some more or should this be good.
Gilda: This should be good.
Ray: Ya, its a shame we couldn't catch all of them but this well still feed us.

I smiled.

My frown quickly faded away, when from behind we all heard a loud crashing sound, and an additional rawr.
I got my knife out and quickly spun around, to find the same gigantic beast that had killed my old friends...
