"It is time."
The voice echoed through a dark temple.
"We must have them ready for the war that is coming," another voice said.
"A lot of innocent people are going to die."
"Yes," another replied, "but only because they are preparing for the wrong war."
"We have a plan."
"Yes," the others answered together.
Seven figures stood around a massive stone table. Each carried a strange device.
One by one, they activated them.
A book appeared in front of each figure.
Then a sealed metal box appeared beside each book.
The first figure reached for his book.
"Number Three. The orphan. He will be the first."
Another figure spoke.
"Number Six."
"Number Four."
"Number Five."
"Number One."
"Number Two."
"And Number Seven."
The first figure picked up the sealed box.
"I shall begin my quest."
"May it be a long one," said the figure holding Number One's book.
The temple fell silent.
Four Months LaterNew Cali Orphan Home
A woman stood outside an orphanage.
She looked toward the building.
"I've finally found you..."
She held a sealed box.
"Number Three."
She placed the box on the ground.
Then she poured a strange powder into it.
Next, she added a small amount of liquid.
The mixture began to glow.
The box transformed.
Metal folded over itself, reshaping into a smooth white egg.
A panel opened on the front.
The woman reached into her chest.
A purple light appeared beneath her skin.
She pulled out a glowing device.
She placed it inside the egg.
The machine began to hum.
"Go."
The egg opened.
A familiar robot emerged.
"Rebot."
She placed a book beside it.
"Find Number Three."
The robot scanned the building.
"Number Three located."
The woman smiled.
"Take the book."
Rebot grabbed the book.
"And keep him safe."
Rebot flew toward the orphanage.
