We return to Justin and the gang, driving down the road toward the prison where Justin's mother is being held.

"Are you boys ready for some killing?" Mupo asked.

"Yeah!" everyone yelled from inside Mupo's car.

Just then, the helicopter carrying Karah finally caught up with them.

"Hey, you think we're close?" DJ asked, looking out the window.

"No, we've still got a little farther to go. Why?" Mupo replied, keeping his eyes on the road.

"Because there's a huge helicopter coming our way!" DJ said, beginning to panic.

"Go, go, go, go, go!" Mike yelled.

"Don't worry. This baby isn't even moving yet."

Mupo flipped a switch, opening a secret compartment beneath the dashboard. He pressed the button inside.

"Let's get sonic."

The car suddenly prepared to launch forward, but before it could take off, the helicopter fired something onto Mupo's vehicle. The car immediately came to a stop.

"So much for going sonic," Justin said.

"Now we're trapped like flies," DJ muttered, ducking down.

"Here they come!" Jake yelled.

Everyone went quiet.

Someone knocked on the car door.

Everyone raised their guns.

"Justin, honey. It's me. Your mom," Karah said from outside.

"Dude, she said she's your mom," DJ whispered.

Justin looked at everyone.

"I'm going."

"Yes, and when you open that door, I'm going to blast her," Mupo said, aiming his gun.

"No. Don't do anything. I'm going to open the door."

Justin reached for the handle.

The door opened from the bottom upward.

Justin stared at the woman standing outside.

For a moment, he could see the mother he remembered as a child standing beside the woman in front of him.

"Justin," Karah said softly.

Justin froze.

"Mom."

They hugged.

Moments later, Karah looked around at the group.

"So, you boys came all the way out here to rescue me?"

"Yeah," Justin said. "That was before I knew you had already escaped."

Karah smiled.

"Well, it's great and all that you got your mom back, but who's going to fix my darned car?" Mupo complained.

Back at Grandad's House

"Okay, here's the last ingredient," Treaya said, dropping it into the robot.

"Great. Now close the box. When Justin gets here, I will place my device into the robot, and it will create the gem needed to power the next robot," said the Protector.

"So why do you die?" Treaya asked.

The Protector looked at her.

"Well, like them, I wear a suit. Once you reach a certain age, the suit keeps you at that age for many years. I am 478 years old. Once my suit loses its power, I will begin aging at an accelerated rate until I turn to dust."
