"They're not enemies."
Nathen lowered his guard, still watching the stranger carefully.
"It would seem that Reese has gone on a rampage," Nathen continued. "Look at what he's done."
"We're looking for him too," Justin said. "We're just here to get you."
Nathen looked from Justin to Jimmy and then to Alex.
"And where exactly are we going?"
"We're going to get stronger and stop Reese," Jimmy said, raising his fist.
"Come on. We've got a ship waiting back in the lower city."
Back at the Ship
DJ sat in the second pilot's seat, smoking while keeping watch through the front window. Treaya had just returned to the cockpit.
"Hey, you think they found Number 5?"
"Yeah," DJ replied. "Or they wouldn't be taking this long."
Suddenly, a massive explosion shook the sky.
DJ jumped in his seat.
"Whoa! What was that?"
"I don't know. I hope they're okay."
DJ looked toward Treaya.
"Well, you know what that means."
Treaya sighed.
"DJ—"
"I'm taking this ship that way."
Treaya sat down in the other pilot's seat and began activating the ship's weapons.
"Whoa. They did tell me this thing could do all this."
"Yeah, that's because you're trigger-happy."
DJ looked offended.
"Remember when we let you play Aim Down? You kept firing your gun and giving away our location. That's why we've kept firearms away from you."
"What? I was being battered!"
Before Treaya could respond, a communication alert came through.
"It's Alex."
Treaya answered.
"Hey, Alex."
"Yeah, we're on our way back. Oh, and we found Number 5."
"Cool. We'll be waiting for you guys."
"Good. Now I can relax," DJ said, lighting another joint.
Treaya shook her head.
"Yeah, well, I'll be in the back getting things ready for my love."
"Jimmy," DJ muttered.
"Yeah. Crazy things."
Treaya walked over and smacked him upside the head.
Back at Alex's Grandad's House
Mike and Jake stood outside, guarding the house while Mupo helped Alex's grandad install new modifications onto his weapon.
"So my gear is connected to the weapon?" Mupo asked.
"Yes. I even made it responsive," Grandad explained. "No matter where you are, it will find its way back to you. It can remain attached, or split apart if it needs to fit through tight spaces."
"Cool. Like Thor. Except fuck being worthy. This one's mine."
Grandad chuckled.
"Yeah. As long as you're wearing that gear."
