chaeryeong huffed, watching as ryujin drove off. she couldn't believe that her best friend almost made her confess to yeji.

she was about to head to her room when she spotted the lunchbox ryujin brought with her. chaeryeong grabbed the lunchbox and read the note on the post it stuck on the top.

dear chaeryeong,
i'm so so sorry. i didn't mean to make you feel that way :( i made your favourite pasta for you. i hope you forgive me :)
-ryujin

honestly, chaeryeong felt rather bad. as much as she wanted to be mad at ryujin, she couldn't resist the delicious pasta sitting in the lunchbox. chaeryeong sat down at the table and grabbed a fork before digging into the food.

after finishing everything, chaeryeong headed to her desk, playing with her phone.

with a sigh, chaeryeong flopped onto her bed

with a sigh, chaeryeong flopped onto her bed. she remembered clearly what ryujin was about to say before yeji walked in on the argument.

suddenly, she sat up, realisation hitting her hard.

ryujin almost told me who she liked

chaeryeong gasped. ryujin always told her group of friends that she never liked anyone despite half the school crushing on her.

who is that person anyway?

yeji was confused as to why ryujin and chaeryeong were arguing. the duo seemed to be the closest in their friend group. she didn't want to group to break up since she didn't know how she would approach ryujin without being awkward.

hoping that she would make chaeryeong feel better about her fight with ryujin, she headed over.

yeji knocked gently on the door and it soon opened, revealing chaeryeong.

"hi! can i come in?"

instead of standing aside to let the older in, chaeryeong stood still, frozen in place.

"hello?" yeji laughed, waving her hand in front of chaeryeong.

finally, the younger snapped out of her daze and apologised meekly.

when yeji made herself comfortable on the couch, she asked chaeryeong why she and ryujin had been fighting.

"o-oh. it was nothing. we just got into a small disagreement, that's all," chaeryeong replied with a shrug, avoiding eye contact with yeji by taking her time to prepare iced coffee for her.

"you sure? it sounded pretty big," yeji stated, glancing over at chaeryeong who was playing with the stirrer in the cup of coffee. "hey, are you alright? you seem distracted," the cat eyed girl said, getting up and heading over to her friend, placing a hand on her back.

chaeryeong looked over to yeji sadly, pouting. the older laughed, telling her how cute she looked.

"if you're comfortable, you can tell me what happened with ryujin," yeji said gently.
