"and the home team wins!"the bleachers broke out in cheers, standing up and applauding.
chaeryeong fell onto the bench, sweating so much that her jersey was sticking to her skin. tired, she got up and joined the team huddle before they were dismissed.
she dragged her feet to the locker room and changed out of her uniform, not minding her teammates. of course, chaeryeong carefully took the polaroid of yeji out from the pocket and slid it into the back pocket of her jeans.
waving goodbye to her teammates, chaeryeong headed to her friends who were waiting for her outside.
however, she spotted a familiar figure standing amongst them and she gasped.
"yeji!" she exclaimed.
the said girl smiled. "i tried my best to rush back from the lecture," she said.
chaeryeong grinned, thanking her.
behind yeji, yuna was gesturing wildly. chaeryeong gave her a stubble thumbs up from behind her back.
"yeji? do you want to go have an early dinner together?" chaeryeong asked, fiddling with her fingers behind her back.
yeji smiled and nodded. "let's go now?"
chaeryeong signalled to her friends to leave and the three immediately scurried away, giving yeji a half assed excuse.
they decided to eat at the café in the campus, chaeryeong trying to calm her thumping heart the entire time.
chaeryeong stuffed her phone away and turned to yeji.
"do you want to take a walk around the campus?" chaeryeong asked, motivated by the last message lia had sent.
yeji finished up the remains of her peach tea before nodding, arm around chaeryeong's shoulders as they headed out.
soon, the duo reached the garden and as yeji awed at the flowers and chaeryeong prepared herself for the confession.
