the day of yeji's first match came sooner than expected.

chaeryeong, yuna and lia all came to watch their friends play and were sitting in the bleachers, cheering them on.

ryujin fixed her baseball cap and turned to yeji who was frantically wiping her sweaty palms on her uniform.

the younger girl placed a hand on yeji's shoulder and squeezed gently. when she turned around to face ryujin, she was met with a warm smile.

"don't be nervous, you'll do great if you play as usual," ryujin said. yeji thanked her for her encouragement and headed onto the field while ryujin sat down with the rest of the team at the benches.

the team cheered loudly for yeji and shot her thumbs ups before she got into her position.

yeji let out a breath before fixing her form, making sure that she would win this for her team. when she was given the signal to start, she threw the baseball, her wrist snapping forward as the ball went flying.

"strike one!" the commentator exclaimed.

the cat eyed girl stood up straight, a proud smirk on her face.

cheers erupted in the bleachers.

the referee passed yeji another ball and she threw it expertly, the batter on the other team missing again.

"strike two!"

yeji could bring the win home now.

"strike three! the home team wins!" the commentator yelled.

the team sitting by the benches screamed in joy, clapping furiously.

"you did amazing for your first game," ryujin stated when they were in the changing rooms.

"you finished with a home run today! you did really well too, ryujin!" yeji replied while pulling on a shirt, turning to the younger girl.

"come on, let's go," ryujin said, grabbing yeji's wrist and pulling her along with her to the top of the bleachers where the others were.

"yeji unnie! you were awesome!" yuna exclaimed, flinging herself onto the older.

chaeryeong and lia praised yeji, telling her that she was really cool on the playing field that day.

"let's go eat at that diner nearby! ryujin unnie can drive us," yuna said, turning around to grab ryujin's hand.

the older shin sighed and nodded.

"yay let's go!" yuna cheered leading the rest of her group to the foyer as ryujin headed to get her car.

when they finished eating, ryujin sent everyone home as usual, chaeryeong and yeji's place being her last spot.

however, just as yeji was about to alight, ryujin grabbed her arm.

"do you want to go out? just the two of us?" she asked.

yeji's eyes sparkled as she said yes, forgetting about chaeryeong who was standing behind her.

ryujin grinned, telling the older to sit back down on the passenger seat and close the door. the younger baseball player waved goodbye to chaeryeong, missing the hurt look on her face as she drove off.
