Harlow's POV:

I watched as Oliver ducked and spun around multiple times. He got in many hits on the demon whereas the demon hadn't even touched him. It was very clear that Oliver had experience in fighting. The scene was so quick, it was over in less than a minute. And with that, the demon's head was sliced off by the mighty blade of the one and only Oliver Simmons.

He wiped the blood on his blade off on a tree leaf and walked over to me as if this entire thing didn't just happen. As if it was a normal everyday occurrence to him. And boy oh boy was this definitely not normal for me. I mean, how often do you witness a supernatural's head being chopped off by another supernatural of whom you thought to be your friend for eight years, only to find out there is an entire other world out there? I'd say it's pretty rare.

"So," I said after a moment of silence.

"So."

I clear my throat. "So that was something." He hums in response. "Okay, what the actual hell?! You just slayed a demon! A demon! And all you've gotta say is 'mm'. You got something wrong with you." I shake my head.

Oliver looks at me amused before saying, "I'm well aware that I slayed a demon, Harlow. This is normal for me, though. It's my life."

"Well it sure as hell ain't mine!"

Alright, even though I'm not as hell-bent as my dearest Nala, I can have quite a short temper at times and can be a big handful. Mostly when I'm frustrated. And right now, I'm frustrated!

I throw my hands up in the air in dramatic defeat. "Ugh! Dude! I- Argh!"

Oliver starts chanting some real BS while I rant over how I must be dreaming because all this chaos has messed with my mind.

At some point I might've asked someone to pinch me so I know if I'm dreaming. And boy did I not see that coming.

"Ow you mothertrucker! That hurt!"

"You asked someone to pinch you. So I did. You're welcome." He said.

"You're welcome," I mock under my breath and scrunch my face.

"Let's go." He says and starts walking further into the forest. "It's no longer safe here."

I rush after him in a hurry, not wanting to see another abomination of hell. Cough*, I mean demon.

"So you're just going to abandon your lovely treehouse that is absolutely beautiful and to die for?" I ask exasperated.

"Yes," he replies. "Until it is safe once again."

I scoffed at that.

***

After what seems like forever, we arrive at a very nature-esque castle looking building. There are vines running up and down the outside of the beige castle walls and different looking flowers along some of the vines. There are multiple different trees surrounding the area, resembling the trees near Oliver's treehouse. We walk up to the front gate and two guards lower the wooden gate and it descends over a small river, right in front of us. Clearly the guards know Oliver because they wouldn't have lowered the gate for anyone. This is straight out of a fairytale.

We walk past the gate, beyond the castle walls, into the castle. There is an ornate red carpet decorating the polished floors. There are vines coming inside the castle as well, and lots of flowers and planted trees and plants everywhere. Hanging from the ceiling is a beautiful chandelier made of what looks to be teardrop shaped crystals. The entire castle was beautiful.

We walk through many hallways and pass multiple closed rooms until we reach what seems to be a garden. Oliver leads me outside, past a few garden gnomes and miniature statues of fairies. We continue through the garden until we stop at a bench that is being used by an elder man who looks to be in his eighties, with wrinkles and a kind smile. He has striking green eyes and snow white hair.

Oliver sits on a bench opposite from the elder man and motions me to do the same.

As I sit, Oliver speaks.

"This was the faerie I was talking to you about from our history; the eldest of the fae."
