It was a new Greenleaf. The flowers were blooming, the birds were singing, and a brown she-cat was frolicking in the pretty fields.

She kept the prophecy to herself, she didn't want to tell Flytuft, Copperstar, or Burrstorm, the BronzeClan medicine cat.

"Goldenpaw!" Hawksong called out from a clearing. "It's time for training!"

Goldenpaw followed her mentor to the Training Grounds. There she found her littermates Silverpaw and Bronzepaw fighting Dovetalon. Yellowstar was, of course, taking care of her Clan, so she couldn't be there to help them train.

"Next moon is your Warrior Assessment," Hawksong said. Silverpaw and Goldenpaw squealed in joy, and Bronzepaw smiled.

"But first, we must battle train," Dovetalon pointed out.

Hawksong stood up. "This is the Double Attack." He unsheathed his claws and clawed a nearby log. Then he showed his teeth in a snarl and bit that same log. "That's how you do it," He said, checking his teeth for splinters.

Goldenpaw spotted a rock and tried to imitate her mentor. She unsheathed her thorn-sharp claws and slashed the rock, then bit it with her hard teeth. Silverpaw and Bronzepaw mimicked Hawksong as well.

"This next one is a Quick Claw." Hawksong swiftly jabbed his claw onto a tree, leaving a small dent. The three tried to mimic the golden tom, leaving a smaller dent than Hawksong's.

"The final one you will be learning today is the Great Kick," Hawksong said. "Goldenpaw, get on top of me." The brown she-cat jumped onto her mentor, but Hawksong kicked her from below, and she jumped off, in mild pain.

The three copied the Golden tom, and Hawksong and Dovetalon stood up. "Great job, you three are finished."

The three smiled. "Back to camp," The mates said.

The three followed the mates back to camp, where they plopped onto their nests and went to sleep.
