It was five days until the Summer Holiday started and I was planning to spend the long three months of the break with Draco. All of our classes were finished and the five days were mainly for being with your friends, partying, and packing away things. I always loved these five days. I loved the parties and being able to hang out with my friends without the stress of school work.
I was with Draco in the common room talking about what we would do at the Manor over the Holiday when I suddenly became distracted by the idea of the Slytherin party that night. "We should go to the Slytherin party tonight."
"Not happening."
"Just hear me out. We already are on clean up duty, we might as well go." I said, wanting to go to one last party on nearly the last day of the term. I had only gone to one Slytherin party and I couldn't remember half of it thanks to Flint's 'mystery' drink.
"As long as you don't drink whatever Flint brings."
"Like I was going to even if you didn't tell me not to."

Just as quickly as the day started, it ended. The sun had set hours ago and that meant it was time for the party. I got the same outfit I wore to the first party I went to while being in Slytherin and headed to the common room. I was having an amazing time at the party before I noticed a strange looking girl walk in that I had never seen before. I pointed across the room, getting Draco's attention turned towards her. "Who's that?" I asked Draco.
"I wouldn't mess with her. I heard that-"
To late
I was already walking over to the girl. As I came closer she gave me a strange look. "Hi," I said blankly.
"Hey?" She replied back, confused.
"So where are you from?" I asked.
"Here and there,"
"Okay.. Have you been to a party before now? I haven't seen you."
"Now and then."
"Well you're just full of information." I said with slight annoyance lingering in my tone.
"Why didn't you tell me how annoying she is? I kept trying to make conversation and she gave the worst, most vague answers. Like how am I supposed to respond to that?"
Draco laughed. "I tried to warn you."
I brushed it off and continued to attempt to have fun but, every time I looked over to where that girl was she was just staring at me. "Can we go? That girl won't stop looking at us."
Draco said nothing but grabbed my hand and we both left. Not saying a word, Draco led me to a field behind the castle. We layed down and began watching the stars. Although as I stared into the sky I couldn't help but think about my mom. I couldn't stop thinking of how she used to hit me growing up, how her abuse only grew as I did. Just as I began thinking about her, I shook my head to rid my thoughts and began to actually watch the stars.
"So far I've counted 37 stars." He said, still looking up counting the twinkling stars above us.
"Don't you think it's pointless to count stars."
"I don't think so, it's actually kind of fun. Also you could argue that it's pointless to count freckles but I know you have nine on your hand."
"Well that isn't creepy at all." I said and Draco laughed. "Okay but actually, how do you know that?"
"I'm observant." Draco said with a grin.
As the night became longer I realized how dark it truly was. Although, it brought me peace. I always liked the dark, there's something about the feeling of not knowing your surroundings, not seeing the color of the things as they appear, but as they truly are. There's something about the unknown, the quiet, the cold. There's something unspoken about the dark, something I could never quite put words to. Something terrifying, yet beautiful.
We woke up to the sunrise and the birds chirping away sounding for the day to start. I hadn't realized we both fell asleep outside and neither did Draco. I knew we were late to get to the common room to clean up and I jumped up, forcing Draco up with me, not wanting to get in trouble for being late.
Draco and I quickly headed back inside to the castle to get to the common room where both Pansy and Blaise were. Once we got there, Pansy and Blaise gave Draco and I an annoyed look but continued to clean without a word.
As I headed over to a messy corner I kicked over Blaise's cleaning supplies. "You're such a bitch." Blaise hissed under his breath.
I laughed. "I think I can live with that."
"I hate you." Blaise said angrily.
I saw that Draco was about to say something before I started at it again. "I know there was a compliment in there and I'll take it.
"You piece of shit."
"Ah, there it is!"
"One of these days I'm going to murder you," Blaise said enraged.
"First try didn't satisfy you enough?" I laughed and walked away just wanting to get the common room cleaned so I could hang out with Ginny.
Five Days Later
Everyone was gathering their things to load into the train. I was walking with Draco to find a seat before Ginny came up to me, excited for the summer holiday. "Come sit with me Daniella." She looked at Draco with disgust before turning back to me. "Only you though." I think Draco could sense I really wanted to sit with Ginny because he smiled and nodded his head at me before looking back up at Ginny and glaring at her. I felt bad for a moment leaving Draco but I knew we would be spending the rest of the summer together so I smiled at him before turning down the train with Ginny.
The train ride was loud and it was as though not a single person was in a bad mood. Everyone was happy to be going home and the first years wouldn't shut up about how they weren't the babies of Hogwarts anymore. By the time we got to 9 ¾ it was dusk. While everyone was finding their parents, Draco and I just left. Both of us knew neither of our parents would be there.
We took our broomsticks all the way to the Manor and on our way there Draco looked worried. He leaned in next to me. "By the way my parents have no idea you are staying."
"You're joking right?" I voiced in a shocked tone.
"It will be fine, they don't care about what I do as long as I don't mess with their reputation."
Eventually we arrived at his house and walked in. Thankfully his parents weren't home. I headed up to a spare room next to Draco's, set my things behind the bed in case his parents looked in the room and headed into Draco's room where we talked for ages. Eventually it became morning as Draco and I were in deep conversation. We realized his parents were home. Narcissa called Draco down for breakfast and he told me to stay in his room and that he would bring me up food after his parents let him leave the table.
Draco
After my mom called me down for breakfast I ate as quickly as I could. I never really did eat anything for breakfast to begin with so it didn't take long. By the time I got upstairs to my room I saw that Ella had fallen asleep in my bed. I didn't want to wake her up so I headed to a spare room to sleep in as I needed to respect her privacy and not sleep in the same bed with her. I layed in bed the entire day thinking of the different things Ella and I would do during the summer. I never did get much sleep as I never had anything but nightmares.
To my shock she slept the entire day and night.
