By the end of the day I had met everyone on my floor except that person at the end of the corridor. Every time I would go to knock on their door there would be a notice saying that they were out and when I returned to my room I would find a note saying ‘I did come back’ so this time I had left a note. ‘I’m Gemma, we never seem to meet’. It was just so coincidental that we never actually got to see or speak to each other and we’re somehow becoming note buddies. Something else that was coincidental was that Allen was on the same floor as me. When I met him, we spoke for ages.

“Why did you just leave without telling either me or Finn?” he questioned. “I didn’t want to be a drag.” I was quite ashamed right now. “Don’t be daft! We would’ve been more than pleased to take you along with us. Especially Finn, he was quite upset about it.” And there we go, the guilt had just wacked me across the face. “Sorry.” I mumbled innocently. “That’s no worry now.” He laughed. “By the way, where is Finn?” I asked. Allen looked confused. “You do know that Finn lives in…” his phone rang once again interrupting the conversation. “Sorry…” he pulled his phone out from his front pocket. “Oh, speak of the devil.” He laughed and turned to show me his ringing phone with a rather attractive caller id and labelled Finn Harries. “Hey, what’s up?” he bellowed down the phone. “Ahh okay, well guess who I’m with?”

Finn’s P.O.V

“Who?” “Gemma!” OH MY GOD!! “What!!! No way!!” I screamed. “Yeah, she lives…” “Where are you?!” I stopped him. “Umm… on our dorm floor?” he replied confused. “I’m coming! Don’t move!” I hung up without saying bye and ran to our dorm. I can’t believe we finally found Gemma! What would I say to her?

I started to slow down a little as I was losing a lot of breath. Would I hug her? Should I give her a kiss on the cheek? No it’s too early. Then I shake her hand? No Finn! This isn’t a board room. Urrgh lets just get there first.

I ran through the main doors to see the back of Allen’s head. He was probably talking to Gemma right now. I caught up a little with my breathing pace and slowly walked towards the brunette head just peaking over Allen’s shoulder. I closed my eyes for a second and took a deep breath before approaching them. “Hey guys…. Where’s Gemma?” It wasn’t Gemma, it was just another girl who lived on our floor. “She just left with Liz. I think she said that she needed a new notepads or something.” Allen replied. “Great” I whispered to myself.  “Anyways, I have to go off now too. I’ll see you in a bit mate.” With that, Allen too left.

For the second time round I had missed Gemma and to be quite frank, I was getting overly annoyed now. Defeated, I made my way to my room.

“Hi, excuse me!” called a blonde haired girl from behind me. “Hi, my name is Liz. I live on this floor too.” I turned around to her and gave her a smile. “Hey I’m Finn.” “Hi Finn, umm… sorry, I know we only just met but… umm… this is really awkward.” Wait, this is Liz! Didn’t Allen say Gemma just went out with a girl called Liz? Trying to get along with this conversation and get to a point where I could ask her about Gemma, I carried on talking to her. “Don’t worry about it. You’ve already started so you might as well continue.” I urged. “Well… ummm…” She continued to stammer. “Well… I kind of already knew your name was Finn.” I looked at her baffled. “Umm… okay?” “The thing is… well… I kind of, like…” “How bad can this be? You haven’t stalked me have you?” I joked. “No, no, no, no” She burst out. “I’m kidding. Now, just tell me what’s up.” I chuckled a little so it didn’t come across as rude. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath and began again. “I’m a really big fan of your brother Jack.” she rambled. I burst out into laughter. “Is that it?!” She slowly nodded unconfidently. I pulled out my phone and made a call. “Hey’a mate, can you talk to someone for me?” I passed the phone over to Liz who was stunned.

“Thank you so much!” she jumped at me. “I just wanted to talk but you actually got me to speak to Jack! I owe you so much!” She was near to tears from fan girling. “You owe me nothing, it’s the least I could do.”

Jack and I gained loads of fans just within a few months and it was lovely meeting a few of them every now and then and to have someone who enjoys our videos in my dorm was awesome. I’m sure she would be more than happy to give opinions on videos before we made them public – it would really help us.

“Hey Liz?” She was so cheery right now she couldn’t stop smiling. “Do you know someone called Gemma?” I looked at her anxiously. “Gemma? Sure, I was with her not too long ago. Then she went off on her own. She lives in the room on the end.” My eyes widened. All this time I was having note conversations with Gemma herself? What is my luck in this world? I haven’t met her once this entire time but we spoke more than I even thought.

“Really?” “Yh!” I was even more determined to meet her now. “Okay, thank you so much!” “Why?” Woops, what would I say now? “Umm… nothing, I just know her but haven’t found her since we came. I didn’t know she was on the same floor and she hasn’t called me yet either.” I said regretfully. “Ahh, that’s probably because after having her number got transferred her phone got swiped and she lost all her contacts.”  Ahhh!! That’s why she hasn’t called yet! Phew. “Oh, is it?” I said casually. “Alright, well… I’ll see you in a bit. Just need to finish unpacking. “Alright, no problem. Thank you again!” “No problem.” I smiled and made my back to my room much happier than I initially was.
