Why does the sky cry?
For the pain of the earth,
Years of depletion,
And the destruction nigh.
Miles of forest, animals and plants
That held beauty, fruit, and life,
Converted to a lonely wasteland
That holds stumps, dirt, and death.
A world of love, peace, and play
With innocents enjoying life,
Changed to hate, war, and a work day
With evil using a knife.
Why does the sky cry?
For the pain of the earth,
The pain of the people,
And the death in the dirt.
