3. Mt. Overhaul Aftermath

(This short story is partially based on another one of my role plays, but it's also based on the song "me and ur ghost" by Blackbear. I put the song above so you can play it at whatever point in the short story you want. I'd recommend playing the song at the beginning, but you don't have to do that or listen to the song at all if you don't want to. 

It takes place in a separate plot line from my role play, after they break up. I don't want to spoil anything else.

"Hey, watch where you're going! Kai..." Yu Takedayama mumbled his name after bumping into her ex boyfriend and the leader of the Shia Hassekai, Kai Chisaki. The two stood awkwardly in front of each other, completely indecisive about what to say. Starting a conversation was suddenly challenging when they used to be so close. "How have you been, Kai?" The woman known as Mt. Lady blurted, twirling a piece of her platinum blonde hair between her fingers. "Oh, nothing interesting. I've missed you. I feel like everything I see reminds me of you." The man known as villain Overhaul murmured slowly in reply.

Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! He thought to himself with frustration as Yu blushed. Then why did he push me away?! The pro hero thought just as irritably to herself. "Is-is that so?" She stammered bashfully. "I do regret forcing you to abandon the way we used to be, Yu. I apologize if doing this caused you great pain-" Overhaul apologized. The heroine sighed at his sincere but contradictory words. "I hate when you do this." Yu grumbled. "When I do what?" Kai raised a brow. "Make me feel bad for something I didn't do." The platinum blonde answered, softening her voice and taking a deep breath after. "I promise that is not my intention. I just want to keep you safe." Chisaki explained. "I see you almost everywhere I go too. It's like I'm with your ghost." Yu admitted after a moment of silence between them in the swanky department store.

"Is this place familiar to you at all?" Kai questioned her curiously. "If I'm being honest, not really." She answered. "Oh." "Well, I hope you are doing better now. Without having to worry about keeping me safe and our relationship out of the media and all." Yu said back before walking away. Kai squinted at her hand and was surprised to see that she was wearing the promise ring he gave her before their relationship ended.

Moving on from everything they had was going to be much more difficult than the yakuza leader realized.
