The Swans Major

Alex POV:

When we get to the class, Alice lets go of my hand and walks over to the teacher, “Hi, Mr. Smith, this is Alex Swan.”

THe teacher looks up from a stack of papers on his desk, “Ah yes, one of the Swan siblings. Tell me, how’s your mother doing? I haven't seen her in a long time.”

I share a glance with Alice, and awkwardly stutter, “Uh, she, she’s good, I guess? I think I am supposed to give you this.”
He nods and takes the slip from my hand, signing it, and says, “Why don't you sit with Ms. Cullen, since you seem to know her.” 

He motions to a seat next to where Alice is now sitting, and as I place my stuff down I give her a look that says ‘what is up with him?’ and she giggles before turning to where the teacher is now starting the lesson. The rest of Political Science passes quickly, and before I know it, the bell rings and Alice walks into the hallway with me, “What class do you have next?” she questions, her voice ringing like bells in heaven. 

I look down at my now rumpled schedule, “Um, Biology, with my sister.”

Her face lights up, “Oh! My brother Edward is in that class as well, I forgot to mention that earlier.”

I look over at her as she leads me to the classroom, “If you don't mind me asking, how many siblings do you have?”

SHe tilted her head a little bit, looking at the ceiling, “Well, there's Edward, then there's Rosalie, Emmett, Jasper and me. So, four siblings. Oh, look! Thats Edward right there.”

A if hearing his name, a tall boy with dark hair looked up to Alice and smiled as we made our way over to him. Alice skipped her way over to his side and smiled at him, “Hello Edward, this is Alex, he’s one of the new students, along with his sister.” she said.

Edward put his hand out, “Hi, I'm Edward Cullen, its a pleasure to meet you.”

I noticed the way he talked was very formal, but shook it off as I took his hand, which was just as cold as his sisters ‘must be a family trait’ I thought, “Alexander Swan, but I go by Alex.”

Alice then stepped forward, “The bell is going to ring soon, do you mind taking Alex to his next class? Its the same as yours.” Alice had a small smirk on her face, and Edward rolled his eyes at her, “Yeah, of course, come on.”

As Alice walked away, Edward turned and walked down the hall and I hurried to catch up with him, ‘curse people with long legs’ I thought.

A second later, Edward slowed, as if he read my mind and then turned to walk into a classroom, me following.

Edward stepped out of the way and motioned towards the teacher before sitting down.
As I walked up to the teacher, I could hear small footsteps behind me and turned to smile at my sister, whose perfume I could smell.
She smiled back and we both made our way to the teacher, and after getting our slips signed, we were split to two different tables, Bella with Edward, and me with a girl named Angela.

She gave me a small smile as I sat on the stool beside her and I gave one back, “I’m Alex, its nice to meet you.” 

“Angela, you too.” 

After that, we both turned back to the teacher and listened for the rest of the lesson, as soon as the bell rang, I saw Edward shoot out of his chair and practically sprint out of the room. 

I walked over to Bella, “Man, what did you do to get him running like that?” I laughed

She glared and rolled her eyes, “I don't know, he acted like I smelled and wouldn't even sit in his chair the right way.” She then turned around, almost making me bump into her in the middle of the hallway, “do I smell? God, that's so embarrassing, do I?”
