My 16th birthday. I've waited patiently, or not so, for this day as long as I can remember. I've anticipated every detail for every situation of the day waiting for it to finally come. What color would I be?

Mother always told me this day would be more than special; it would be literally life defining. While not wrong, She'd still preach this to me daily along with her hopes i'd become blue, and not to mention the constant reminders of her disdain for reds.

Despite it all I knew i'd be a blue.

The sun rose coming through my sheer curtains. The pale light dancing across my room reaching my face bringing me to wake. Moments later I hear a few knocks.

"Alice!"

My mother cooed muffled by my heavy door. This her signature waking method for me.

"I'm getting up.." I spoke back. This day was so special, yet I couldn't help but be nervous. The moment I look in that mirror I would know my color along with the path i'm meant for in life.

"Ohhh I can't wait to see your color!"

I couldn't help but smile at her excitement. Though I couldn't help but feel just as excited.

The cold tile of my bathroom floor shocked me awake from my feet up. I anticipated the turn to my mirror.

Blue.

My hair blue, my skin with blue undertones, even bright blue eyes. I couldn't think of anything to say even though i'd always thought of it this way. I shouldn't be shocked, but I couldn't help it! I looked so different now.

I could hear the crash of my door being pushed open by the pure excitement of Mom.

"Holy hell!" She screamed.

We jumped in synchrony, celebrating this moment.

Mom is Blue, Dad was blue, and now I am blue right along with them.

After that day I lived harmoniously with my fellow blues, scowling at the lowly reds all while preparing for my new school.

The day finally arrived. Color Academia. My new school. As a freshly turned blue it will be my first ever year there.

Now as mother has never been fantastically wealthy, and Dad is no longer here to help out, we can't afford the Blue Only school. While mother is increasingly worried about this fact, I am much too excited about my new life start to care.
