The next morning I woke still upset to yesterday's events. I decided that venting to my mom would help calm my nerves and keep my head straight for classes later.

Dear mom,
I hate to tell you this way, especially not in person, but I must confess that I am roomed with a red.

Now before you think "Oh Alice! Quick get a different room!" I have already tried that. I was rejected.

However, please, please don't fret! I am doing well and will continue to. Especially with the help of writing letters to you

Love and miss you lots,
Alice

The letter mailed, and my things ready, I prepared for my first ever school day at Color Academia.

The teachers chalk clicked on the board honing my focus back to math. The room was unusually cold and I hadn't thought to bring a jacket. Along with that misfortune comes more; this class I have to share with Derek.

He sat adorned by beautiful girls, blue and red. They didn't focus one bit on Mr. Hun. I noticed though, while Derek received all this attention he still focused on the equations needing answered.

I stared on, watching his head work to get an answer. The muscles in his arm contorting to raise itself. His voice rang through the room calmly. His answer was right, and praise followed from the girls as well as Mr. Hun.

My cheeks reddened as his deep sultry eyes caught mine. A smile playing on his face. I didn't look away though...I couldn't bring myself to. It felt like hours before he finally gave in and went back to his paper.

The final class of the day arrived and I noticed it was also shared with Derek.

I chose a desk right behind the front row, directly in the middle. I'd always liked to be center of attention, not that I needed to be. I just always had been

The chair next to me groaned as a body fell into it.

"Funny seeing you here."

Derek had taken it upon himself to sit next to me out of all the other vacant seats around. I mean literally the classroom was still completely empty. (I'm always more than punctual.)

I moved my desk slightly away from his, receiving a squeak from the metal legs of my chair.

"I don't think it is, actually."

"Of course you wouldn't.." I heard him speak attempting to speak beneath his breathe. He failed to be quiet obviously.

"Anyways, um I've been wondering your name. I told you mine, but I still haven't been blessed to learn yours." He was obviously being sarcastic, it was annoying. It felt like he was looking down on me! The Blue. Nonetheless, as my roommate he should know my name in case something were to happen.

"It's Alice."

"Pretty name. Suits you." He spoke softly and close. I could tell he genuinely meant what he'd said.

"....Thank you." I hesitated to reply.

His body was so close to mine I could feel the heat coming from it. We sat in silence looking into each others eyes, just as we'd done earlier...

The sounds of other students along with the teacher woke me from whatever trance i'd fallen into. I startled rattling my desk, and knocking my pencil of my desk and by Dereks feet.

"You dropped something." He said slyly, whilst picking up my previously dropped item. He handed it to me and purposely brushed his hand against mine.

Class continued, and I had trouble controlling my thoughts. Maybe mom wasn't right about Reds being so horrible. That's such a horrible thing for me to think,... but he's been so polite. Not to mention he cares about schooling as I do..

Maybe friendship between us wouldn't be such an outlandish thing. All the others in this big city don't seem to care. I've seen countless Blues and Reds being friends, and more than that....After all he'd been so polite. Plus it would be no more than just a friendship, that I could handle, and I think mom could too. Honestly, he strangely resembled all the Blues i'd known anyway.
