Jily and Harry : Cost of Love

Chapter 22

As the soft morning sun touched the sleeping Potter, Harry squinted his eyes awake and fluttered as the day brought him a sense of joy.

As he sat up from the bed he found the world a little bit foggy and blurred as he hadn't had his glasses on as he tried to focus his eyes on his surroundings, he searched for his glasses slowly for a moment so that he wouldn't hit anything, and after he found it he puts it on and observed the place he was in, at first he thought that he was in his father's bedroom but he had gone back to the hospital wing as he saw himself in a hospital gown and bed with monitors and IV bags around him.

As he rubbed his eyes with grogginess, he heard the door opened and quickly smiled as his parents rushed to him with tears in their eyes, James and Lily could not believe that Harry's awake, they embraced him as tight as it can be as if their lives depend on it before Harry tapped them in their backs saying that he cannot breathe.

After breaking up the hug the nurses quickly rushed to him and did a quick examination to make sure that there was nothing wrong with him and if he is ok'd to be released.

After a frustrating hour of examinations, he was set free for now to his future parents only for today for they were still not certain if the disease may come back with side effects so they had to quarantine and was under observation for at least 5 days, James quickly carried him up into his shoulder while lily just eye-rolled and hit him in the shoulder with a smile plastered in her face, James smugly looked at his future bride and gave her a quick peck in the cheek before going to the heads common room for Harry to change.

After Harry changed into his day outfit which consisted of a red and yellow lion t-shirt, brown kid-sized baggy pants, and some kid-sized sneakers, they quickly made their way to The Great Hall where their breakfast was waiting for them.

Before Harry could eat his toast mail arrived in owls as it flooded the hall with parcels of boxes and letters, he then saw two owls heading straight towards them, they dropped the parcels and letters on their hands so that it won't land on their food after they got their mail they examined them, they saw at least 2 parcels for Harry, 2 envelopes for Lily and a Howler for James 'remember it was for Harry' James thought first before opening his howler letter from his mother.

"HARRY, OH GODRIC ARE YOU ALRIGHT MY LITTLE CUB" the howler screamed imitating Euphemia's voice which was full of worry "when I heard your situation I almost died of heartbreak, oh my poor cub, I miss you already, and Harry one of these Parcels are from me and your other grandmother we became some sort of writing buddy since we last met and seeing that you are my son and their daughter's son we couldn't resist, anyway the two parcels for you Harry are full of your favorite candies and a fresh tub of Ice cream from Florean Fortescue's ice cream shop," the howlers said before pausing then looked at James ''JAMES FLEAMONT POTTER! You are in big trouble mister; I get it that it was for Harry's sake but there are other ways to resolve these kinds of matters and not with punching or even hexing be lucky I wasn't there because if I am oh so help merlin I will never let you out of the house in any day!" the howler roared before facing Lily ''Lily dear thank you for taking care of my son and I hope you could stay here with your parents here in Potter manor in the winter break and also Dumbledore extended Harry's stay there until the end of January, and thank you for putting up with James I know that he could be a handful so thank you" as the message ended the howler quickly ripped itself apart while James slumped down in his table and groaned.

Harry quickly ripped the parcel's paper in such speed and opened the box to reveal a mountain of sweets from his grandparents and his favorite flavored tub of ice cream from Florean Fortescue, he was beyond ecstatic that instead of continuing his breakfast opened the tub of Ice cream and ate it, Lily, however, scolded him and told him that he could eat it after dinner, Harry nodded in agreement and closed the tub and continued with his breakfast in happiness with his mother while James sulked in the table.

After breakfast, Harry was collected again by Dumbledore before giving his parents some hugs and kisses.

During the 2nd period of their morning class which was DADA the young couple and their friends except Peter who was not with them again, talked about Harry's rescheduled birthday party on Friday since it was dueling day, which to their surprise was in 4 days, they had a slight problem with the food seeing that Harry was in the hospital wing for 4 days and Sirius accidentally burning all the decorations on the house common room.

After class, they have decided that the four of them do the decorations to Sirius's dismay again while James and Lily took care of Harry and the food since they have head duties at that time, and they were to collect Harry at dinner time and join them in patrol while they prepare.
