Afflictions of Distrust

You held my heart to your mouth,
Overflowing it with vain and rushing words
And from my arteries I bled out for you.
And in the end, the air was lost
that the words shed their echos
in the chambers of my heart.
Thus floats out the nature of what's left
Nothing stays that isn't already lost.

You brought my ear to your lips
whispering in it all kinds of devotions
till my ears bled from all the broken words
that pooled into deep waters.
And no canal could keep them contained,
So from my head they fled.
Thus floats out the nature of what's left
Nothing stays that isn't already lost.

You held my mouth to yours
silently awaking all the things that breathed,
till I couldn't gasp life into my soul.
In the waters of my tears, my soul floundered
when I felt you so near.
And no channel of fear can be succumbed
in the overflow of this flood of love.
So I tread upon this wave gently
Till I know the nature of what is left;
I know nothing stays that's isn't already lost.
