“Move along buddy” Andy said with a sickening smile plastered onto his face. “You may have outwitted all those who came before you, but I’m waaaay smarter than you think”

David wanted to resist but knew very well not to try someone holding a Truedom. He cursed himself, he loathed his credulous nature but none of that could compare to the burning rage he had for Viktor....

“Hey pick up the bloody pace will ya!” David could tell that this Andy guy was loving every second of this. I will never reach Evington this way, let alone Victoria he thought and stopped all of a sudden.

“Hey! Do you want a notice board or something, i said move you bustard!”
“No” David simply said.

Chances were that i was probably going to die in this mission of mine, what was i to lose. Nothing much, just my bloody life! Here i was in the middle of nowhere, being bossed around by an old man held, at gunpoint by this back stabber. I had to take my chances...

I stopped, directly provoking him. Come on shoot me, i silently dared him.
I turned to face him, his hands were now shaking. He was the man holding the gun, but somehow he was the one trembling. Amazing what a cold stare can do to a person.

I kept looking at him - at this pitiful obese man in front of me, kept looking down the barrel of my own gun.....This is what it had come down to....

"Why are you doing this Andy?” i said, still penetrating his soul with my steel glare “What amount of money or wealth can possibly justify the loss of millions, surely you must’ve asked yourself that question before.”

“I, I don’t know” he now shook even more, so much so that he could’ve dropped my precious
baby.

“What did he say” i kept looking at him.

“Huh?”

“Viktor, what exactly did he tell you?” i took my eyes off him as turned away “What did he say that could possibly turn all of you against me?”

There was a brief silence and then BOOM!. It was the unmistakable sound of a gunshot, not just a gunshot, but a Truedom’s signature blow.

David quickly turned around only to find Andy lying dead, a hole on the side of his balding head and blood gushing out staining the green foliage below. Andy had indeed shot himself.
David was not new to these sort of situations, but of all he had witnessed, this was the most baffling one. Why?

He didn’t want to waste any time and quickly retrieved his firearm from the already cold corpse. One down David told himself, and this time he didn’t have to be the one to pull the trigger. He didn’t have to be one to stop another heart from beating.

Why was i wasting time here? This guy had just made my mission just a lot easier. That’s enough blood for one day, if i stood any conceivable chance of meeting Mel, and reaching Evington in one piece, i had to keep on striding forward. One in front of the other...

The mocking jays of this now wretched forest cut my slumber short once again, aided by the blinding glare of the scotching sun. Another day in this inhospitable environment, just as i was about to call it quits.......there it was:

Evington 2 miles...
