Oh shoot!

I was beginning to think that she wouldn't come, I'd been standing here like a lost puppy for ages...Had she pranked me?
Like always, just as I was about to give up, there she was. Just a single glimpse of her was enough to numb me of the reality. To numb me of all the danger that had constantly shadowed me these past few weeks -these past danger ridden weeks. All that stood still for a moment as I took in Mel. I couldn't explain it but she looked even more beautiful. Her lovely blonde hair in a neat ponytail, her glasses complementing her oceanic blue eyes and her dress bringing out her irresistible petite figure. Nice! But I knew well enough not to let my guard down....not just yet.

"Well well well" David began as Mel drew closer, "You always were bad at being on time" he continued.
"I thought you knew very well that I'm only on time for things I love" she shot back playfully.
"Hahaha very funny, I see you haven't lost your bad sense of humor" laughed David.
"Yeah yeah genius, let's get you in" she paused "After all, you couldn't do it on your own."

Ok so, so far everything was going well. We just had to get past this feisty Taylor.
"Ok umm Taylor, I'm back and this time I have your stupid identification" I turned towards Mel "this is Mel"
"Ok, I see, and what's your relationship with her?"
"How does that concern you?" Now she was really pissing me off.
"How do I know if you just paid someone" she said defensively. "What is your relationship?"
Before I could answer, Mel jumped in "I'm his girlfriend ok!"
That took me by surprise if I'm being honest but it didn't phase Taylor who again had a response, she had a response for anything, "And just how am I supposed to believe that, anyone can say that"

Things were moving way too fast, and it was surprisingly exhausting to be caught in the crossfire of two battling cougars. Then, just when I thought things wouldn't get anymore weird, Mel pulled me by the collar and I felt something I hadn't in a while, Mel's warm lips on mine, her tongue exploring inside of my mouth. But something was missing, something was lacking, what?

Mel finally pulled out of the unanticipated kiss and turned to Taylor "Is that enough proof or maybe you wanna see us make a baby!"
For the first time since David had met Taylor, she was finally outwitted.
"Ok then," she said submissively " you're ok to enter the city" and as if it was a requirement she concluded with a sigh, "Welcome to Evington"

"Come on" said Mel, "my car is just over there"
David, still recovering from the kiss and the whole 'baby-making' fiasco, simply nodded and followed.
They reached the car, a vintage but exquisite maroon Porsche, the one Mel's father left her in his will not too long ago and truth be told, she was maintaining her late father's pride well.

Mel waited a bit before she started the car "David, David, David..." she giggled "I still can't believe it's really you"
"Look Mel, I'm really sorry for this out-of-the-blue appearance, let me expl-"
"Save it for later, it's been a long day, especially with that girlfriend of yours"
"Girlfriend?" David laughed and soon Mel joined in and suddenly something that was long gone at least for a moment at least for that little moment was back.
"And the kiss?" David said and immediately rued it and once again that spark, as quickly as it appeared, vanished.

Why the hell did I say that, why? The car moved, and except for the radio frequency, was utterly silent, then she suddenly broke the silence "Oh shoot!"? as the car slowed down.
"What's up?"
"I think we might have a flat, can you please go check it out"
"Sure, no biggie"

David went to check what was wrong, leaving, according to her, an exhausted Mel in the car. He immediately heard a soft fizz of air rushing out of the tire, as he leaned in closer he was baffled by what he saw. It wasn't a thorn nor a wire that had pierced the tire......but a bullet!
