"You must be happy that we won the game last night."

"Why?" I ask, clueless.

"So you'll be able to see Everest play in the next one."

"Please, Aurelia," I say, turning away from her to grab my satchel off my bed. She's been teasing me nonstop since the night before. I should have expected this.

Nothing particularly interesting happened last night. After meeting with Everest, I took a few more minutes to calm myself down before I headed back into the crowd. After that, the game was normal. When I arrived back home, I did tell Aurelia I met Everest. I didn't think she'd be as excited as she is though. I wouldn't take her to be a matchmaker.

"I just want to enjoy this trip without you pestering me about Everest the entire time," I say, waiting for another one of her remarks. I smile as she says, "But it isn't pestering if you don't find it annoying, is it?"

I turn to her and warningly say her name. "Aurelia." I shake my head as I head towards the door. "If you don't fix your behavior, I'll—" I think for a moment, struggling to find the perfect punishment. "I just might never tell you anything again."

"Again?" Aurelia asks, placing her hand on her mouth in an animate manner. "But ... you know I live off of romance." She giggles as she grabs her bag and steps out into the hallway with me.

"Okay, I will stop teasing you," Aurelia eyes me as she locks the door behind us. "But only for today, because I have something I want to show you." She taps me on my nose and once again, I feel my cheeks turn red. Every little touch from her sends my heart on fire. I wonder if ... I wonder if she feels it too.

"Show me?" I ask, feeling even more embarrassed with the thought.

Aurelia nods and says, "It's quite a brilliant place too." "Even more spectacular than your secret library spot?" "That's our spot, silly," Aurelia winks at me.

I tuck a loose piece of my hair behind my ear and face the other way in an attempt to hide my red face from her. She can tease me all she wants, but I cannot let her see the effects she has on me.

"And to answer your question, it just might."

"Please give me a hint," I say, wanting to hear her voice more than find out about where she wants to bring me.

"If I give you a hint, you'll figure it out," Aurelia says. "So you'll just have to be patient," she smirks at me, hopping down the rest of the stairs.

"Just give me a little hint," I say, following her. "Just a letter." "A letter," Aurelia says, stopping in her path. I nearly bump into her as she thinks. "Okay, Odette. Your hint is S."

"S? Like as in sandwiches?"

"No," Aurelia answers, surging into laughter.

"S as in sand; are we going to a beach?"
