The sun blinds my eyes as I look up at the tall, magnificent walls of the school

The sun blinds my eyes as I look up at the tall, magnificent walls of the school. I look down, relieving my burning eyes and look at Macy who shares a quick exchange with the driver. She quickly hops over to me and asks, "Ready?"

Macy runs up the steps, not even tripping once in her heels. I drag my suitcase up the ramp, following Macy.

Macy pulls open the wooden doors and motions me inside. I step inside and I can't help but widen my eyes in astonishment. It looks exactly like the pictures I saw online only better. The sun hitting the chiseled designs makes me feel like I'm in a dream.

"This way, Odette."

I follow Macy down the incredibly large hall and turn down an corridor. Macy stops at a door and pushes it open. I take one last look down the endless hall before going into the room.

"This is my office," Macy says, sitting down at the desk. "Wow," I say under my breath, admiring the shelves of bookcases and large glass windows revealing the lush courtyard.

"Take a seat," Macy says, pointing to a guest chair. I lean my suitcase against the chair and take a seat, still looking at my surroundings.

Macy scans a few papers and says, "Okay, so I just need you to sign a few things for me, Odette." She pushes a paper and pen towards me.

I lift up the pen and look to where Macy points. "When you sign here you acknowledge that you understand the rules of the school and will follow them to the best of your ability." I quickly sign through a few forms as Macy explains everything.

"That's that," Macy says, taking away the last form. She grins at me and asks, "How are you feeling?"

I bite my lip and then say, "A bit nervous."

Macy shakes her hand at me and says, "That's totally normal." She reaches behind her and says, "Here are your uniforms." She taps on the top now and says, "Three sets of full uniforms for you."

I reach to take them, worrying about the size. Odette is usually one size smaller than me in clothes. If mom filled out her sizes on the form, I'm not sure if they will fit me right.

"Can I exchange my clothes for a different size if they're not fitting?" I ask before taking them.

"Of course!" Macy exclaims. "Just be sure to tell me by the end of the week, okay?" I nod and take the uniforms. I set them on my lap and run my fingers over the embroidered crest.

Macy turns around and picks up three boxes. She pushes them across the table to me and says, "Shoes." I take the boxes, wondering what shoes they are, and set them on my lap, under the uniforms.

"Your roommate will tell you when laundry day is, because it's different on each floor." Macy stands up and walks over to the bookshelf. She takes off a thin hardcover book and hands it to me.  "This is the guidebook," she explains. "If you need anything and I'm not available and neither is your roommate, that book probably has the answer."
