Arabella

Two weeks later...

"Happy Birthday!" Me and Cove yell as we jump into Kai's bed. 

Immediately, we pour a shot of Jack Daniels for all of us. Tonight is Kai's 24th birthday and we are throwing him a surprise party.

Kai groans and rubs his eyes. "What time is it?" 

"Uh just around 7am" Cove says with smile.

He grabs the shot and throws it back with ease, which makes us take ours. The warm liquor burns my throat making my eyes water.

"This shit is nasty as fuck, how do you like that?" I ask and Kai shrugs. 

"What's your plan today?" Cove asks Kai.

"Uh first things first, I'm going back to sleep. and I have lunch with my dad around 2." Kai replies.

"Yeah I'm going back to bed too, happy birthday" I say as I kiss Kai's cheek and head back to my room. 

Right as I close my eyes, Cove sits on my bed. "Okay don't forget you're on alcohol duty. You're the only one I trust to get enough and the good shit."

"Okay. Okay. I got it"

"Meet back here by 2:30. Love you." She says as she leaves, shutting my door behind her. I roll over, instantly falling back to sleep.

I wake back up around eleven, and throw on pink sweatpants, with a cropped white tank top. 

I throw my hair up, and grab my keys. I walk into the living room to put shoes on, and see Kai doing a line. 

"Aren't you meeting your dad soon?" I ask.

"Exactly." 

I laugh and head outside to my car, heading towards The Tavern to see Finn, an ex lover, current friend.

I park behind the bar and knock on the back door. Finn opens up and immediately pulls me in for a hug. 

"My favorite customer. How much do we need today?"

"Four handles of Tito's. Three handles of Jack Daniels. Four bottles of 1942. Three bottles of Dom Perignon. Four twenty-four packs of Corona."

"So your usual bar order?" Finn laughs.

"You know me so well."

We both walk inside and start loading up boxes. 

Getting all the necessities, I make my way back to the house. 

While setting up everything for the party, 50 people show up who were invited, as well as at least 20 extras as usual. 

Cove checks Kai's location and tells all of us he's ten minutes away.

Anticipation courses through me as we get in our hiding spots to surprise him.

We hear the door knob jiggle and Kai opens the door.

"Why the fuck are all the-"

"Surprise!" we all scream.

He shows us all his famous smile. Everyone goes up and start wishing him a happy birthday.

Cove and I go directly to the vodka and throw back shot after shot.

"Arabella" by the Arctic Monkeys starts playing.

"Oh fuck, this is my favorite song!" Cove says and pulls me into the living room as we began dancing like no one is watching.

Dancing on Cove, I see the front door open
