We ate breakfast and left the hotel early next morning in silence. I knew no one wanted wanted to talk about how we were threatened about what we saw last night but they were all thinking of it. I wanted to talk about. What if that was Amy's blood we saw or a innocent person. I couldn't just ignored it.
"What if that was Amy's blood we saw last night?" I asked
"Do you think that was her body that was missing?" Claire asked.
"I don't know." I said.
I dropped everyone off at home and headed to the Cream Shop to get me a non-fat latte to calm my nerves. Then I drove home and left my suitcase in the car. I entered the house and my mom and dad were sitting in front of the television as if they couldn't see anything else.
"Morning" I said.
"Where's Amy." Dad asked.
"After the party a friend took her home." I lied through my teeth.
"Her mom said she never came home." Mom said.
"In fact her mom told her she couldn't go to the party." Dad said as if I knew anything about her not coming home or her mom told her she couldn't go to her own party.
"I didn't know her mom said that." I said.
"But where is she?" Mom said.
"I-I don't know." I spoke. "She left with a friend before the party ended and never saw her again.
"I'm going to call Mrs. Benson and let her know." Mom said.
Right then a text buzzed to my phone from Marilyn.
Marilyn: My parents said Mrs.Benson reported Amy missing.
Me:Just tell them she left with someone who said they were going to drop her off.
Marilyn: Spread it to the others before its to late.
"When did Mrs.Benson report Amy missing?" I asked.
"This morning." Mom said poring her coffee.
I hurried and sent the text to the others but somehow they already knew what to say. Hopefully Amy would stop her little game and come out so we can stop lying for her.
Although close friends lie for each other not to each other.
