Today was a great day. First I picked up Rachel and Hailey, the girl that moved into Amy's old house. We got lattes at the Cream Shop and headed to school. The first two periods were great I received As on both my assessments of last quarter. It was good.
Until our principal Mrs.Reed came looking for me, Rachel, Marilyn and Claire. When she found us we walked up to the officer where the police officer- Officer Smith sat behind the glass the window. We walked into the room as we stood there anxious and confused hoping no one would change the story we were questioned for last year for Amy's disappearance.
"Ladies have a seat." Officer Smith said with a smile on his face. We sat down at this table and we all looked at him waiting for him to say "what happened."
"What happened last time you saw Amy." He asked. We told him everything we planned on telling which was the exact same story we told the police last year.
"It's so funny." He said. "You all have the exact same story as last year."
"That's because it's true." I said sending a smile back.
"So she didn't tell any of you where she was going?" He asked.
"No." Marilyn said.
"Can we leave now?" Claire asked.
"So what was this some kind of slumber party?" He asked without responding to Claire.
"Yes. I mean I guess." I answered.
"So why did you come back early?" He asked. "You were suppose to stay right?"
"My mom wanted me home." Marilyn lied. "I had to help her do something."
We all shook our heads just acting like it was the truth but we all saw he wasn't buying it.
"Okay ladies get back to class." He said. We all left the conference room and walked down the hallway together.
"We need to meet somewhere tonight other than the Cream Shop." Claire said.
"Italian Heaven?" Marilyn said. We all just nodded slowly and went to class. It's just getting worse.
