The pictures are all over the internet within a day but Jennie's picture of Lisa and Lila seems to appear more often. It's kind of perfect, even if Lisa does say so herself. Even if Jennie had clicked her tongue at her at first because she'd turned her face at the last minute and lifted her hand to pat Lila's wayward curls down.

It resulted in a picture of Lisa with her nose pressed to Lila's ear, her hand cradling the back of her head and her smile probably too soft and loving to be seen as innocent. Jennie didn't seem to care and Lisa just shrugged and let her send it. That might have caused the amount of phone calls they'd received all weekend with people wanting quotes and statements, wanting to know if they were together.

Lisa remained quiet and let Jennie do what she wanted, which was put her phone on silent and ignore everything.

"You okay?" she asked as she'd settled back on the bed beside Lisa.

Lisa had just nodded before leaning forward to kiss her on the forehead.

The rumors increased. People started talking about them more once they realized that they were obviously sharing the same bed. Dispatch started to follow Lisa to the grocery store and work and she just ignored them, wanting to take Jennie's lead. Some of them even parked outside the house creepily, ready and waiting to follow them.

Their respective management decided to up their security and they didn't argue. Lila was in the house now and they needed to keep her safe.

Lisa even started making Jennie come to the dance studio with her knowing that she'd be left alone at home apart from the occasional visits from Jisoo and Chaeng who only wanted to cuddle Lila.

People started to notice things between them but no one, not even them, would say anything. Their dynamic was strange to some people and they looked at them weirdly when they saw it.

"I think she wants Mama," Bambam said on one of the first times he held Lila and she started fussing.

Everyone looked at Lisa when, instead of taking Lila from him, Jennie just pointed in her direction. "That's who she wants," Jennie said as she continued reading the book in her hands.

Lisa took her and smiled as innocently as she could when Lila stopped and fell asleep the minute she was cuddling her. No one seemed to buy it.

It was getting harder to pretend she was nobody when it was slowly becoming obvious, even to her, that she was more than somebody.

"Am I ever going to get to meet her?"

Lisa narrows her eyes and takes a sip of her water. "Who, Ma?

"Don't act stupid," her mother whispers and drinks her wine.

Lisa bristles because things are awkward. Her relationship with her mom has been strained. Their once frequent visits and lunch dates had lessened but, recently, they've been seeing each other more. They haven't talked about anything but Lisa doesn't mind, she just likes spending time with her mom again.

Except now. She doesn't like these lunch dates now because the questions are suddenly too hard and confusing.

"I don't know who you're talking about?" Lisa shrugs her shoulders, feeling like a disgruntled teenager.

Her mom shakes her head. "Your little girl," she says emphatically. "I want to meet her."

Lisa's heart sinks and, for all the things that have happened in the past year, this is the one that makes her feel most like a disappointment.

"She's not my little girl, Mom," she says quietly. "She's Jennie's. I'm just helping."

"Lisa..."

"I'm serious," she nods. "I'm just helping out. She needs someone there for her."

"There are lots of people who would help her out, Lisa," her mom says. "But if you think that's what you're doing then I'm worried about you." Her mother reaches for her hand until she puts down her fork. "If this is your way of keeping your heart safe," her mother whispers. "I don't think you have to worry."

Lisa feels her eyes water and she looks at her mother, not sure what to say. Her mother sighs and pulls her forward, kisses her on the temple and then rubs her back.

"I just want you to be happy," she whispers softly. "I want you to be happy and I think Jennie makes you happy." Lisa finds herself snuggling closer and her mother laughs a little. "You love her?"

Lisa sniffs. "Uh huh."

"And you love Lila, too?"

Lisa chokes back a sob. "More than..." she trails off because she doesn't think words could do it justice. "Yeah..." she says instead.

Her mother pats her back. "Then I have nothing to worry about," she whispers. "I'm proud of you."

Lisa buries closer and breathes out. "You are?"

Her mother clicks her tongue and kisses her cheek.

"I don't think you have any idea how brave you are, do you?" Her mother chuckles softly. She rubs her back. "Talk to her. If you're scared, talk to her."

"But what if..."

"Then it happens," her mother says like it's nothing. "But you're brave, Lisa. You always have been. Don't let this stop you."
