"anything you can do, i can do better."

"anything you can do, i can do better. and you can count on that shit." you sat back in your seat and crossed your arms over your chest, a complacent smile on your face.

bakugou just couldn't stand to see you even think for a second that you were better than him at anything. he was just so used to being the best and knowing that he was the best, someone like you he wouldn't even give the time of day.

"oh really? you think you're hot shit, huh?" he stood up in his chair so fast, it fell to the floor. you slowly rose from your seat to face him.

"that's 'cause i am. and everyone knows it," you started as you poked him in his chest with your finger. "but you." it took everything in him to not blow you to pieces right there but if it was a fight you wanted, then it was a fight you'd get.

"team y/n!" denki shouted.

jirou nudged him in his side. "don't encourage them." she spat, the venom in her voice scaring him shitless.

"would you like to take this outside?" you asked pleasantly, your eyes still burning into his. if looks could kill, the both of you would drop dead right now.

"gladly." he mumbled.

"okay!" sero shouted in between the two angry kids. "the rules are-"

"fuck the rules. just let me kick her ass." you cackled at his 'determination'. someone like him needed a humbling and you were more than happy to be the only one brave enough to do that. but that didn't mean that you'd actually succeed.

"i think we better hurry before aizawa comes..." mina comments.

"so, nobody is gonna stop them?" jirou looked around at everyone. nobody dared to protest against any of this.

"do you want to get killed?" denki commented.

"here kitty kitty~" you teased as bakugou jumped back away from you, careful to not let you touch him. your quirk requires you to touch your opponents in order to put them in a world of pain, the worst physical pain imaginable. the only downside that annoyed you was that with each time you used your quirk, the less effective it became.

everytime you ran to him with full force, he slide himself to the right of you, sometimes to the left and by this time, you were getting very frustrated. 'ha! she's tired already and i haven't even used my quirk yet. what a fucking loser'

'just let me touch him...' you thought.

"hold still!" you screamed angrily. a smirk crept onto bakugou's face as he watched you slowly lose it in front of you. this was the best entertainment he had all day.

he was so busy laughing at you that he allowed you to get close, but not close enough to touch him before he blasted you away with one of his explosions. most of the class watched the two go at it with each other, anticipating the victor that would come out on top to finally end this feud. all you had to do was touch him and he'd be done for, but he obviously was not letting up on you. but you weren't letting up on him either.

"come over here and fight me, loser!" bakugou yelled to you. now you had to get mad. you were determined to get to him at any cost and now you didn't care how much pain you caused him, you just wanted to shut him up.

you ran at your best speed towards him with your eyes closed. if there was something to remember from the movies is that somehow things seemed to work out even without you seeing it. bakugou had his back turned away from you and didn't even noticed how fast you were running and couldn't dodge you quick enough. you hadn't even realized you touched him until a blood-curdling scream filled your ears. you opened your eyes to see an afflicted bakugou, crouched over, holding his body, and screaming in agony.

at first, you didn't care if you hurt him or not but that was before it actually happened. you didn't know if it was his painful cries or if you actually felt remorse but either way, you were starting to feel bad. you watched sorrowfully as some members of the class gathered him up.

after that, ochaco, momo, and tsu tried to make you feel better about the whole thing but their reassurance wasn't enough. you didn't have any pride that was stopping you from yourself right now. you took a deep breath before deciding to head to the infirmary to see if bakugou was alright.

'why do i care so much?' you thought as you walked anxiously to the room that you were told he was in. this really wasn't supposed to happen as you didn't even think you'd beat him like that. maybe you didn't beat him and you just got lucky. yeah, you got lucky, but at what cost? 'oh, he's really gonna hate me now'

you knocked on the door softly.
"you may come in!" recovery girl answered. you slowly opened the door and closed it behind you.

"you feel terrible, don't you?" you nodded slowly, being kind of glad at the fact that bakugou was currently sleeping so he couldn't see your guilt.

"you kids have to stop being so reckless or else someone's always going to get hurt, everytime." you looked over at bakugou. he seemed so calm. it was a shame that he had to be sleeping for him to be so quiet and pretty. "but he's fine," recovery girl's voice took you out of your trance. "it's only an effect of a quirk so it wore off eventually." she walked over to the door and began to open it.

"w-where are you going?" you stuttered.

"don't worry, i'll be back." she winked at you before leaving the room. something told you that she wouldn't be back right away, leaving you alone with him. you stood at his side, taking in more of his visuals.

"sorry..." you spoke quietly. "you probably really hate me now, huh?" you hoped he didn't hear you but he did. he wasn't gonnna 'wake up' from this yet. he wanted to hear what else you'd say.
"you're just so...so strong, i-"

"you what?" bakugou said without opening his eyes.

"n-nothing..."

"oh don't get nervous now. you were acting like you were the shit earlier." you were not going to tell him that was all a facade. you appeared confident when it came to him, but you really weren't. why that was, you didn't know. "you're not gonna tell me that you love me or something, right?" he sat up with a disgusted look on his face. 'loving' him wouldn't be so bad if you thought you had a chance.

"ew no." he sank back into his spot with a look of relief on his face. he was relieved that he didn't have to show any 'unnecessary' emotions but he'd be lying if he said that he wouldn't date you if he had the chance. yes, he saw right through your insecurities and knew you talked nothing but bullshit in the beginning but he had to admit that you were almost as good as him, at least good enough for him. that, or he really didn't want to be touched with your quirk again.

"but um..." you shifted your weight from one foot to another. "you're okay, right?"

bakugou scoffed. "of course i'm okay. i'm not dead."

"sadly." you joked, of course you'd never mean that.

"you wanna say that again?" bakugou grumbled. you couldn't help but laugh some more. you just put this boy in so much pain and now you're sitting here laughing next to him. reality really is a strange place.

"stop fucking laughing!"
