I was shown into a small sitting room with a fire blazing in the hearth and the ladies in waiting all sitting sewing through a large set of double doors was a huge canopy bed with heavy covers on the top of it.
"Estelle" the sound of the Queens voice came from the bedroom; I ignored the looks of the ladies and walked into the room "Close the door" I closed it behind me and walked over to where the Queen was sitting with Constance "I hear that you are not afraid to stand up to people"
"If they are wrong then I will tell them" I nodded looking from her to Constance
"Bonacieux; what do you make of him?" she gestured to a seat next to the fire
"He doesn't deserve Constance and he is a drunk" I shrugged as I sat down
"My thoughts exactly" the Queen nodded "I am going to give Constance a position as my companion, it means she does not have to go home to her husband, but it gives him a slightly higher status, which he desires"
"Well at least I don't have to keep pretending that there is something between myself and D'artaganan" I smiled making Constance blush and the Queen laugh
"There is something special about our Musketeers isn't there?" the Queen got a lost look on her face before taking a deep breath "I understand that you have actually made a human of Athos"
"He's..." I was lost for words to describe him "He's kind and very good looking" I laughed
"He is a complex soul, there is something buried deep in him that is painful, that is obvious" Constance said sighing
"Doesn't anyone know his history?" I asked
"Maybe Captain Treville does" the Queen suggested "You could ask him?"
"I don't think he is ready to talk like that" I smoothed my hands over the fabric of the dress.
"Can I trust you, Estelle?" the Queen asked looking at me "I know Constance trusts you; but can I trust you?"
"Of course" I nodded
"I need to get a message to my brother the King of Spain; But I am constantly watched and now Constance is always under suspicion as well" The Queen squeezed Constance's hand
"You want me to go to Spain?" I frowned
"No" She shook her head "there is a Spanish messenger that will meet you outside of Paris in our summer home of Fontainebleau" The Queen got up and opened a secret panel beside the fireplace and pulled out a folded piece of paper with her seal on "It is a risky journey" I looked at Constance she held her hands in her lap and looked nervous
"Do I have to go alone? because I'm not sure where it is" I felt nervous
"No, I want you to take a musketeer with you" She shook her head, I nodded "We have the English Envoy coming so I can't spare more than one Musketeer"
"Alright do they know?" she shook her head "When does it need to be delivered
"By tomorrow, and Estelle I will be forever in your debt" I walked over to her and took the letter "No one can know about this, It would be seen as an act of treason on my behalf"
"I'll leave for the garrison now"
"Captain Treville is about to leave to go back there he will escort you" the Queen rang a bell and one of her ladies came in to the room "Bring Estelle one of my thickest cloaks and send for Captain Treville" she curtseyed and walked out. Within a short while I was wrapped in a thick leather cloak with a fur lining and Captain Treville was shown in to the Queens apartment
"Your Majesty" he bowed to her and looked at me
"I would like for you to escort Estelle to the Garrison, we all like the way she has effected Athos, she should spend time with him" Treville looked a little confused
"Of course Majesty" He nodded "Constance" he tipped his head at her and waited for me to cross the room.
